I would have posted this earlier, but I had a rather tough week and ended up getting to it a bit late. I've not been very active, I admit, but I've officially been on the LHC for a year now. I've gotten roughly three trims last year and none this year, and there's marked difference in my hair. They used to feel a bit like straw, and I was suffering an epidemic of split ends. I wore them down 24/7 previously and very rarely - if ever - brushed/combed.

Now they feel silky, I don't have many splits - after some constant S&D, and I wear them bunned most of the time, or braided. It seems I've grown five inches, but because of the trims it was probably more like six. I used to have a fringe that was cheekbone length, but I've since let it grow out of curiosity and haven't once trimmed it. If stretched, it now reaches collarbone length.

So, now for some pictures (I have none obviously featuring the fringe, I'm afraid).

I'm participating in the no-trim 2018 challenge, or else I'd have trimmed off those tapering ends a bit more. I can't stand taper and plan to cut off at least an inch at the end of the year. What's also interesting is that I had brushed out my hair in the first pictures, but I hadn't in the later ones. Big texture difference. My length goal of classic hasn't changed, as I still feel my hair is much too short.

Here's to another year of growing! :cheer:

Thank you :D I'm not that far from my old length now, I just have some trims to get through.

Oh wow, you can 100% tell the difference - nice growth, looks really soft and really healthy at the ends too :D Just goes to show what a difference protecting it makes.

I can't see that much taper to be perfectly honest! You are doing great, and what amazing growth in just a year. Well done! :applause

Yeah, I was surprised when I compared pictures. Lesson definitely learned about protecting and caring for them.

Thank you :) The taper is more obvious when I'm braiding, but I'm reminding myself it'll get better as I go along. There's some old abuse to grow out yet, after all.

Thank you very much! I'm pleased with how far its gotten so far.

Yea, I'm happy that it's improved so much and stopped splitting so badly. It used to be so dry, partly due to my own odd misbelief that hair that felt 'dry' was 'clean'. Lesson learned. It feels much, much better now.

Happy anniversary Sora Rose, your hair looks beautiful :)

I can see how well you've taken care of it as it started looking so healthy and lush soon after you joined.

I also have an ex-fringe now at stretched collarbone (yay) and I think our natural hair colour is really similar!
