I plan on cutting off 2 to 3 inches today, after I wash my hair. Should I skip the leave-in products or go about my usual routine? Do I wait for my hair to be completely dry or should it be slightly damp?

ETA: If it matters, I won't be cutting it myself but my partner will.

I always put in the products I would use anyway and I cut my hair wet, so my hemline isn't all crooked or way too short when it dries (because it's wavy). Hope this helps!

I always trim my hair when it's soaking wet, since it's the only way I can have it pin straight without heat styling. I usually do it before washing on a day when I'm not planning any pre-wash treatments.

I always do mine dry, just before I wash it.

There's some confusion for you ::p

I've microtrimmed dry but that's because I just followed the tutorial lol! I guess it'll probably depend on how wavy your hair is, if it's quite wavy then wet might help because it keeps it straighter

Same here. Then I wash it, and after the wash it's nice and fresh! It's easier to cut mine dry, but it depends on what your partner is happier with!

My hair is most comb-able and detangled when it's heavily oiled, so I usually trim like that. I have trimmed with my hair soaking wet after a wash, but it clings to itself a little more than it does when oiled. Dry for me is probably the worst way to try and trim - all the wurliness is at its fullest and tangles are just waiting for the slightest bit of friction or manipulation to show up.
It really depends on what works for you, your partner, and your hair. Some people prefer wavy/curly hair cut dry so that it looks more even when dry. Some people have the easiest time manipulating their hair when it's totally dry, not damp at all or oiled at all. Your partner may find that your hair is easier to deal with one way or another.

I trim it dry. It's wavy anyways so it's not like it's going to dry how I cut it when it's wet and straight
