I thought I'd try getting a picture of my hair when dry naturally - I shampooed and conditioned and put my moroccan oil on then sat outside in my swing chair to let it dry, not sure if any of these can affect it but thought I'd write it anyway :) Made sure not to touch it.

Here it is after drying naturally:

After finger combing:

After brushing:

What do you think? I'd appreciate opinions :)

First picture (because that's the only one that counts for typing)? I'd say 1b.

I think putting any kind of oil on wet hair is gonna straighten it (unless you scrunch of course), especially to hair that's already a 1. So yeah 1b, or maybe 1c without the oil?

Thanks guys :) I'll take a pic next time without oil and see if it looks any different

I'd say 1b or maybe 1b/1c.

Sorry for the thread hijack :) but is conditioning allowed for taking a proper hair typing picture? I thought one was supposed to only use shampoo and then let their hair air dry.

It might be, I never really thought about it - I might need to try again another time without the oil or any conditioner then! lol

Well, I don't know the one true way either, but when I try hairtyping with only having shampood my hair, all the waves vanish when my hair is finally dry. So I might use conditioner next time I'm trying to get a typing picture.

I agree that the oil might have straightened it out. I would say 1c, but maybe 1b/1c because of the oil.

I think hair typing used to be done without conditioner but the visual hair typing thread says to wash and condition normally.

Looks 1b to me :) (assuming you put on only a little bit of oil)

Lovely hair! :o

Are your waves actual waves, or is it just the bleached hair that has formed clumps resembling waves? I know my hair appeared less straight when it was bleached, because the strands clumped together kind of forming waves if left to air dry alone, and it made my hair look voluminous and beachy.

I'm curious to see how your texture will change when your natural color grows out!

I think your first pic looks like 1b/1c, but I'm pretty sure you have to do another hairtyping as your unprocessed hair gets longer :)

That's a good question actually.. right, guess I'll do another hairtyping thread in a few years lol!

The unprocessed hair is definitely different when I feel it.

I’m leaning toward 1c but I would have to see it without oil. I think the idea of hair typing is wash and don’t touch it? That’s my thoughts on it abway and what I did. I did fermented rice water and acv rinse only.

I conditioned mine, once. Just S/C, a "regular" wash in a sense.
