*sigh*
I see so many hairstyles where I'd have to use elastics or clear elastics... Are there any non-damaging alternatives? Or do I have to just classify these hairstyles as damaging and ignore them? I use big hair ties, but sometimes I'd like my hair ties to be hidden...

Scrunchies, those telephone cable thingies, and the regular tailor elastic ones, and the ones made from hosiery.

You can use a bobby pin and a section of hair :) They make mini bobby pins.

These (https://www.ponyo.com/collections/products/products/pony-o-2-piece-pack)might work on thick hair but they are too heavy for mine.

That's the point, I can't use something like ponyo or scrunchies because I don't want hair tie to be seen...

Not sure how to secure braids with bobby pins alone??

Bobby pins would be just as damaging on the ends, I think.

Try Invisibobble Nano (https://www.invisibobble.com/nano/). I use them to secure braids. They are a bit bulkier than just clear elastics though, but I don't think you will ever find anything as invisible as them and simultaneously less damaging.

Sometimes I secure my single braid with an XS flexi :)

Btw, I usually use something like ponyo for my big braid. So I'm liking it a lot, but it won't work for these styles. Securing braid with a flexi sounds so cool, I might try that for my single braid, thanks!

These invisibobble nano things sound very interesting, nice!

I want to do this:

Some other style here https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wR722msofDI and apparently she's only pinning, no elastics. Not sure how to do that though, when I try to just pin it all falls out...

For the end of a braid, you can get a pack of very tiny, thin scrunchies, intended for small girls, at Dollar Tree. These work very well, have no exposed ends to catch on your hair, and they cause no damage.

I’ve found damage from the really tiny clear elastics (the kind for end-of-braid) comes from improper removal. You’re supposed to cut them off very carefully with a seam ripper and not pull them off. Unfortunately that generates waste.
