My hair in general grow slow, and since i live in Greece theres hard water. Does hard water makes hair grow slower? I was thinking to buy a water softener but my mom refused saying that hard water wont affect hair growth just because most peoples hair grow normally even if they dont use a water softener. Im a bit concerned at this topic since maybe many of you have installed a water softener.

I doubt hard water would make a person's hair actually grow slower. It can however have an effect on the condition of the hair. You can just use a chelating shampoo to address this, there are also DIY versions like "miracle water" I think it's called if you search this forum. Essentially it's citric acid and vitamin C in a rinse. Also some say vinegar rinses reduce mineral build up but I think that is more a maintenence thing after you have chelated.
I have hard water and have found that using a chelating shampoo when I clarify has made a difference. In fact I probably am due another clarifying/chelating now.

I have hard water here, and I haven't noticed any adverse effects, or my hair growing slowly. Just 1/2 inch a month, which is normal.

I think your growth might be genetic over being affected by water.

My hard water was causing breakage but does not affect my growth.
