So I have two questions that are probably dumb but i'm still gonna ask..

1. When you measure the circumference on your ponytail, what part of the ponytail are you measuring? Right below the elastic that's holding it? Or the middle of the ponytail?

And

2. Do you do it on freshly washed hair? I've measured mine between washes when it was flatter and got something like 3.5". Realized that had I measured it on wash day, it would have been thicker. I also measured it right below the elastic that was holding it.

So where is the right spot to measure it? And when is the right time?

Measure as close to scalp as possible, and don't place the tape mesure over the elastic.

It's normal to get different numbers at different time within your wash cycle (or due to other variables, like curliness/straightness or ponytail placement or styling products/oiling....). What is important is to always try to make the measurements the most consitent and comparable to eachother.

I used to always measure on hair right before a wash, brushed out waves. And right below the elastic.
