I just found this tutorial on doing a ponytail with one arm. There was an archived thread on here, but just in case anyone needs it or wants to try it out- here it is!
and also, i'm a planner for the unthinkable and have had huge success in navigating hard times by learning tricks like this before i needed them. I still have both arms, but i've been without the use of a wrist a few times and these are good to know!

What an inspiring woman. I always find it fascinating how different people do a simple style like a ponytail. My aunt only has one hand so it’s interesting to me watching her tie her hair into a ponytail, whilst to her it’s onteresting watching me braid hair.

I've seen a few youtube videos on braiding with one hand. I have a friend who broke her wrist once and I researched for all sorts of links for one handed ponytails and braids for her.

That girl is superb!!! I love people like her (and would kill all her potential trolls/haters, youtube mighty attract them), it inspired me so much :)

How cool! Sometimes, after so many cat videos, you forget that youtube can be useful sometimes too :D

That's the sort of things that would have been useful to me 2 months ago when I hurt one of my arms and couldn't use it for a week. Instead I just kept my French braid for as long as I could (about 5 days), at which point my hair was the most tangled it's ever been.
