That's beautiful!

In 2013 DH and I went to Skagen in northern Denmark and this painting was in the museum, an odd subject but I did love the hair!

The photos are of Rapunzel specifically. Here is the video embedded right here.
To put the video right in the thread you copy the link and then choose "insert video" in the tools-see the little film icon.
That channel has more content for long hair art lovers, so do check the other videos on that channel.

Sarah that's quite beautiful. Very powerful painting. I am not sure I can post this directly here but it is just beautiful. One of my favourite bands, cds and front covers

I didn't want this thread to be a "bulky" thread and so I didn't embed the video. ;)

My thoughts are to keep the content on the thread when possible instead of having to leave the page to watch a video or follow a link. But that is my style!
Not everyone even notices a link as the thread goes on. I was in the advertising business and my job was to make catchy visuals. This style is embedded in me for life :)
Thanks for starting this thread, I think it will be popular and fun.

I absolutely love this topic! I just bought some canvases, perhaps a long hair painting is in order...
LadyLongLocks I love the classics video, long hair was so common then they had so much inspiration to paint from. So envious! Just watching every-day ladies doing their routine brushing and styling was enough for a beautiful subject. Love the variation in art styles too.

The work of John William Waterhouse comes to mind when I think of the vibe all my long-haired dreams have...

Not very inspired but I've just found this quick sketch that I did some months ago. I've also checked some old paintings, and there are several long haired gals there, I'm sure I've done a bunch more but here's what I found by now. Most are quite old.

WIP Lady Godiva in watercolor. I've got it finished somewhere. As it contains "nudity", I'll just post the hotlink: Lady Godiva (https://i.imgur.com/iprV6Cr.png)

The original painting is a big favourite of mine, you can see it here (https://www.flickr.com/photos/sofi01/8533655014)

After my exams I've got to take my paintbrushes again... I really miss it, after a couple comissions in january I've totally stopped

Another painting that I love to bits, actually it's my fav painting ever, it's the Venus Birth by Cabanel (https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b2/Alexandre_Cabanel_-_The_Birth_of_Venus_-_Google_Art_Project_2.jpg), it's in the Museum D'Orsay in Paris, I've visited it several times. Hotlink because of nudity mimimi.

^ This is a picture postcard of Atayal indigenous people of Taiwan, which shows a woman with beautiful knee-length hair. This postcard is in the collection of Lafayette College Special Collections. I just think it's beautiful, I love the natural taper of her hair.

^ These are two more picture postcards, dating from approximately 1905. They depict two Alsacian women - one whose classic-length hair is down and being dressed by the other one. This is such a playful and sweet pair of images featuring hair. I love their amazing Schlupfkapp hair pieces as well, so neat to see the traditional headgear of Strasbourg/Alsace in a souvenir postcard from that era.

What a great source, I want them to be a screensaver that automatically plays the slideshow with soft classical music :)

I´m on tumblr and I follow some art blogs so those paintings pop up from time to time. They´re not easy to find because not everyone tags their posts but this blog (https://life-imitates-art-far-more.tumblr.com/tagged/long%20hair) for example has a long hair tag and you can see many more.
