This video has been in my favorites for a while! I don't have enough length yet.

I'd never have the patience for this. I'll be happy to enjoy seeing it on others though.

Don't think I would have the patience or the thickness, my hair compacts so much! But it is such a pretty style!

Gave this a shot today! It was fairly easy to do, but I have to admit, the pins were not liking me, and my hair is still just a little too short for it to feel stable.

It is lovely Fern.

I would need to add some yarn to thicken the hair to do this.

TatsuOni and -Fern, both so so beautiful.

I need A Whole Lot more thickness and length to be anywhere near achieving this.

This seems doable and up my alley, but I was wondering if there's any trick to doing it without the ponytail bases? I try to keep hair ties as far away from my roots as possible for the most part. :o

I was curious about this. I have no problems with hair ties but I wanted to try it without, you know, for science. :)

I divided into top and bottom (using ears as a dividing point) and then divided into left and right.
The bottoms got rope braided and cinnabunned and pinned. They were small enough to stay with one bobby pin each. In the future I might divide the hair a little higher and make the rope braids bigger. Then I braided the top two sections and finished the same way as the tutorial.
It's pretty clear I didn't use a comb to part haha. So maybe I'd do that next time. And I would probably put them higher since I don't like the feeling of my ends poking my neck.
But all in all I like it. :)

I’ve tried this before and got angry at how puny it ended up on me, but that is some time ago, so maybe I’ll try again now.

I actually skipped the ponytail part and made regular braids. It worked fine both times I did this hairstyle.

I will always be apart of the puny bun club, but I’m actually fairly content with out it turned it because I thought I didn’t have enough hair for it.

Nice! I actually like this more than the original style.

I also tried this style about a year and a half ago. It would look better with a bit more thickness, but that's not going to happen, though I have gained a bit more length+kept getting rid of my thinned ends due to bleaching, so maybe now it will look different. Should try again.

I love that!
You've inspired me to give it a try. :)

@AutobotsAttack: SO adorable! I'm totally doing it.

Yours in the puny bun club,
Susan :) :) :)

So this time I tried to make them higher. BUT I made the rope braids bigger and the English braids smaller and I feel like it looks a little goofy. But then again it's out of the way and not pulling anywhere so it will work well for dinner and baths and bedtime.
(Unless I get bored and change it. Which happens a lot.)

Yeah. My hair compacts down tiny. Too bad, so sad! :lala: #pretendingitsfabulous

Hehe, I could not get the coils to lay flat, they insisted on sliding behind each other.

I did these buns as a half-up half-down hairstyle. Everyone I met asked if I had attached a hairpiece to my head! They didn’t believe that those buns were my own hair until I let them down

Ooh, pretty style! Great pics everyone!
I don't have the strength to do that much braiding at once, but I just had to stop by to say each of Torrin's English braids are thicker than my single English braid  Though I did enjoy the contributions to the thread from my fellow puny-bunned longhairs

I swear I did this in February, I just didn't get to uploading the pictures till now. But I tried this style with just one set of braids, to see if it worked, and it's pretty cool!
My husband says it's fun-looking, but a little too weird to wear out in public. Sigh....

First attempt at Bweeta's buns- I decided to stack them instead of making them side by side. I secured them with 6 pins and a hair clip.
