Interesting! I wish they said more about the genetic cause and how it's inherited. My DH started to lose his hair a few years back, at the moment he almost has a bold spot at the crown, at 37 years old. But my FIL, who's over 80 still has a full head of hair, and so does my BIL, at 50. So I'm a bit confused about that, I'm trying to figure out if my son will start losing his hair at some point, in adulthood. Also, they said it's normal to shed up to 200 hairs/day. I thought it was only 100?

And for an unknown reason, Asian men are less likely than non-Asian ment to go bald, but Asian women are more likely than non-Asian women to go bald. That scares me. I don’t want to lose my hair!

Very interesting. My dad and brother were both "75%" bald by there 21 birthdays! The bald is strong in my family.

I had bald patches age 13/14 when I lost a lot of hair due to hormonal changes. Took 2 years to get my hair back. Rough times, but hormones can do a lot!

Like already has been mentioned hormonal changes like after childbirth and in puberty are big factors but I've also heard of stress and I'm talking like long stretches of extreme stress can cause hair loss or so I've heard.

I do recall reading somewhere, that higher levels of testosterone could send people bald earlier/faster. I think it was a study with mostly men though.
