Hi! I wonder if there are people here that has been using clay for a long time, like a couple of years? I really like the clay washing but have been thinking about how it's gonna work in the long run. Did you experience anything particular after let's say a year? Dryness, flaky scalp and so on. :)

I would not exclusively clay wash. Clay washing is nice to clarify once in a while, say once every few weeks to a month, but I wouldn't do it as my "regular" shampoo. It could be, and probably is, way too harsh, just like BS (baking soda).

I have never personally done a clay wash so I don’t have firsthand experience, but I agree with lapushka. I decided against it myself once I did a bit of research into washing with baking soda - clay also has a very high PH, so I figured it wouldn’t be the best for my hair. I don’t know just how strong it is, but I would keep an eye on how dry your hair is, for sure.

Oh, damn. I do ACV rinses but maybe that's not enough to restore the PH?

Any sort of acid rinse will help return the PH closer to normal. But it is still harsh on your hair to put it through a very high PH solution in the first place. My own hair is pretty fine, so I decided not to risk it, but people with coarser hair might not have to be so cautious, necessarily.

Thanks, Reyn127. I will definitely consider all this!
