Does anyone know where I could get a packet containing multiple, disposable sleep caps?

Would those caps doctors wear in the operating room be suitable, or not protective /smooth enough???

I've never heard of a disposable sleep cap. Shower cap yes. Is there a reason you couldn't just use a regular (reusable) sleep cap?

I don’t think such a thing exists.
It would be pretty wasteful if it did though.
Those silk sleep caps they sell at Walmart etc are very cheap.
Maybe you could get a few of those. Shower caps are the only other thing I can think of but they’re definitely not smooth enough for sleeping.
If you’re handy you could buy a few yards of silk and maybe make a few.

I already have a silk sleep cap, it's just that I like to have a change. I don't mean disposable as in only wearing them once, but disposable in that you wear them until the elastic is worn out....

Are you talking about processing caps like they use at salons when you have some kind of product or color in? You could look at Sally's I have a big pack of them I use when I put a mask on. They are clear plastic with a stretchy white band. They are technically one use but I have reused them.

No, I wouldn't want to sleep in those, I already have those and use them for hair masks too. I also reuse them.

Maybe I'll have to look on Amazon, we don't have Sally's or Walmart here.

The "Stay On Satin" brand is very inexpensive in the US (on the order of $2-3 per cap), and pharmacy/convenience stores like Walgreen's and CVS often carry them in addition to the big box stores like Walmart. I tended to have a couple of these, and would toss one in the wash and wear the next as often as I wanted. When they were worn out, I'd simply replace them, but they held up pretty well, on the order of a couple years.

Maybe they exist in NZ, and it's just a matter of finding them?

Thank you :) No, you can't buy sleep caps at all in NZ, I would have to get something from Amazon or the like.

This is listing at $10 for 5 for me. Any chance it's reasonable for you?

They look good but don't ship to NZ. I find this often, that a seller won't ship to NZ, or if they do, it is at some huge shipping cost.

Yuck. I'm looking at shipping costs, and it certainly isn't good. Joys of living on an island, huh?

I believe you’re looking for something like this? They are disposable hairnets, and pretty common where I am from, no idea what it is like in New Zealand though.

You should be able to find them in shops that sell kitchen supplies, or some kind of wholesale baking needs store

Yes, quite possibly, as long as they are smooth enough for long hair. I note that they don't ship to NZ either. I might make some enquiries though.... I know people in the food business.

For what it's worth, I had to wear those medical hair nets when I had patients on contact precautions and I found the elastic edge to be scratchy and irritating on my forehead, and the hair net itself to be really hot and uncomfortable. I can't imagine sleeping in one.

I bought a beautiful silk cap on Etsy, but it doesn't stay on my head all night. I always wake up with it off.

Oh...that's a shame. maybe some are better than others?

I’ve worn them for laboratory work, and they didn’t bother me in the slightest. Granted, the air conditioning was kept cold, so I never would have felt overheated with or without the cap

They do stretch rather badly.. I'll tell you what I found.. Let me find it on etsy .. see what you think.. I bought a few of these, as you can see no elastic so they do not get all stretched out.. which I found happens very quickly with normal silk caps.. these are not silk, but satin, which is okay for my requirements. I do wear them inside out.

It works for me, is this one any better?

Also these ones on aliexpress are cheap enough to be okay. I've stitched the elastic together a couple of inches
to make them snug again a few times before i give up on them.

What about these, they often use these for curl sets, to cover the curlers (in this country they do):

Quite possibly, I'm sure the place I worked at bought the cheapest ones available. :)
