I have now been growing my hair out for four years.
During this time I've learnt to dutch braid and many other different hairstyles.
I've also changed my routine to include hair sticks and better care in general.

Here a pic of growth. In 2016 the photo is after brushing my hair.

Looks great Rainn! Have you been doing no trim challenges as you've made some quite big leaps there?

I'm glad you put lines and the progression.

Hair grows an avg of a half inch a month.

I assumed a person would gain the same avg 6 inches of length a year. That may be true but it looks like less length was retained each year.

Is it because the longer a hair strand exists and is manipulated, the more likely it is to split or break off? Kinda like wear and tear on a favorite old shirt?

Edudate me please, long hairs.

Yes the older a tip gets the more damage is accumulated. Looks like she must have been trimming more from 2015-2017 than 2014-2015.

I think so. My hair maintains good condition to about hip length. By the time it gets to tailbone length, I have so many split ends and other signs of damage that it makes me crazy. My hair starts disintegrating around tailbone, apparently, although I did get it to just past classic length several years ago.

Thanks for all the compliments.

Yep, I trimmed more in the last few years, than the 2014-2015 period.
Been trying to get rid of old hair dye.

Very lovely and inspiring hair! The hemline, the texture (both brushed and unbrushed), the colour - everything is so nice:crush:

Very pretty. Just personal preference but I like a full hemline like this, rather than a wispy one.

Thanks to everyone's explanations I know sometimes the ends are wispy because it can be more challenging to retain length and condition of the ends the longer hair gets.

Never occured to me becaue I have never had ultra long hair.

Beautiful hair, congratulations! To be honest, the first thing I noticed was how tiny your waist is in the first photo. You have a perfect hourglass shape
