I dry wrap my hair, as in tubi wrap, fairly often, especially as the temperature drops, as a conditioning/cuticle-laying treatment
BUT I'm not into all the manipulation and pins that traditionally go along with it
so here's what I've come up with:
comb hair down evenly from the crown all around, cousin itt style
drape large silky square scarf over evenly
place stretchy headband over the scarf hippie style
gather extra scarf hanging below headband, temporarily clipping it to crown
wrap hair, tucking it smoothly under scarf-held-down-by-headband
until it's all tucked away.
Release extra scarf, twist and tuck in
spin it all in the desired direction a coupla times and the wrap is complete

This method requires almost no manipulation, takes less than a minute, and puts nothing but silk against the hair. It also fits great under a hat.
