What I've used:

Davines was my favorite. I still have a leave-in spray / detangler by them, and I gave it to my mom because I barely use spray in leave-ins. Love that brand, though.

Also Bonacure, by Schwarzkopf. Expensive, but great masks! Very slippy and moisturizing. Cost about €20 per jar!

Kerastase (lovely brand!) - get a shampoo from them (don't know if it's sulfate-free though)! It's been ages, and back then I didn't think to check for such things!

What I hear is good:

Pureology (sulfate-free though).

Joico

Naissant

I love the Joico clarifying/chelating shampoo. Also really like their k-pak reconstructor spray. But I have tried their other lines and didn't really like them that much.

I just tried the Scwarzkopf bonacure shampoo (sulphate free one) and I liked it. I've only used it a few times though..

I love love love Chi moisture therapy shampoo. It's my go-to daily.

And because sometimes it's equally as important:

I tried several Redken products (shampoos, condish, leave in) and did not like any of them in the least which was very disappointing.

I love the smell of Biolage daily clean shampoo but I thought it was too harsh (I use it for clarifying when I don't have my joico).

I'm sure there's many more brands I've used but I can't think of any right now.

Ok after some more thought :)

..

I liked the Wella conditioner (orange bottle) but that's their only product I've bought.

I've tried Nexuss shampoo and conditioner (two lines) and they were nothing to write home about.

I've tried an AG leave in and found it to have a very strong scent and not impressed overall either.

I love Joico K-Pak Reconstructing shampoo and conditioner! I also love Wen Cleansing Conditioner as well! My hair is also thick and loves moisture and protein as well. One week I do protein, and the next week I do a deep moisturizing conditioner.

Sebastian Potion 9 wearable treatment is what I use for a detangler. It smells absolutely delicious and is the right weight for me...just a teensy amount of taming, without making my hair feel oily. Not much to recommend on the shampoo/conditioner front...both Nexxus Humectress and Matrix Biolage smell delightful to me, but they haven't made my hair feel any better than it does with my old standbys.

Reading some of these responses does make me want to experiment though! Enablers, the lot of you :p

CHI, I've used as well (their serum). I liked it quite a bit, but I've discovered other serums that are far less costly and work great on me.

Another vote for Davines, I have their deep conditioning masque called 'nounou', I use it in place of a regular conditioner every time I shampoo. I leave it on for 10 mins and my lengths are like silk afterwards. It's very coney if you're okay with that.

You're a pretty good enabler yourself :D now I want to try the Sebastian potion 9. I have heard great things about one of their products, im pretty sure it was a treatment and had a name something like cellophane?

Which other serums do you use? I have been really wanting to try their serum (and conditioner) since I love the shampoo so much but haven't had a chance since it is so costly.

I've never heard of this brand. I wonder if we have it in Canada. I'll have to take a better look.

I used the IC Fantasia ones a while ago (I have them all, the olive one, the white top one, the pink top one, not the heat serum, I don't have that). I have always liked these serums! Nice and light and don't weigh down the hair. It's been a while since I've used them. I have other things to use up first.

The CHI is thick and gloopy in comparison to that, to any serum really.

I currently am using local serums, from a discount shop called Action, their own brand (Hegron), and also the serum by Kyrell, from Aldi. Aldi had it in promotion at one point, and I got loads because it is an argan oil based serum and it is *wonderful*!

I think it's an American brand, which makes me suspect you'll be able to find it. Though it's made in Italy.

I love joico moisture shampoo and conditioner(it's the blue one). I also love matrix hydrasource conditioning balm it is scilicone free the shampoo is pretty good too. I use to love the original its a 10 leave in but then I found the silk version and omg it is so amazing. If you love soft hair you'll love it! I can't say enough good things about Moroccan oil! I only use it on wet hair but it has improved my hair so much since I stated using it about a year and so ago. I have so many more but I will end it here. My friend is a hair dresser so I've tried so many salon brands because I can get them kind of cheap.

Kerastase masquintense and Bain Satin 2 are amazing and my favourites, but the Davines Love smoothing shampoo and conditioner and the Minu mask are amazing too and they smell wonderful 😀

Ohhhh! Hadn't heard of it before but when I looked it up, it sounds interesting. Apparently it's a glossing treatment and you can either get it with a bit of shade or perfectly clear. I've got some Stargazer on the way to me, but I'll have to line this up as a color test after that. I'm determined to try to push my henndigo to my perfect shade of blue black.

I can vouch for Joico, Wella, Sebastian, Graham Webb, Ion... the "old school" brands. Stay away from the stuff at Sephora, IME they were mediocre for their price. I feel like they're trendy at best.

Oh man, I have tried so many over the years. I keep getting points and outposts from Ulta and catch sales and... I don't think I've used the same thing twice in years.

If you like the smell of banana and particularly banana sunscreen, Sun Bum's hair care is to die for. You can usually it get buy one get one 50% off at Ulta which means, the price comes down on Amazon a lot there you might be able to find it. The Leave in and mask is also fantastic as is the shine on serum.

I had good luck with Its A 10 Silk Express too, BUT I got a lot of build up after 8 weeks from it and would advise keeping a clarifying shampoo on hand if you try it.

I like Nexxus City Shield a lot too and it smelled wonderful- but thats an SLS and protein set.

I'm trying to think of what else Ive tried that international that I had luck with. I'm big into leave in and loved Kenra'a Daily Provision, It's a 10 and Wella's Brilliane Leave in.

We don't have it here in the US, but when I lived in Germany I LOVED Sunsilk, the drugstore brand a lot a lot.

Sunsilk is a good brand. We used to have it in Belgium too, but it got discontinued for sale here. No idea why. And it's a neighboring country too (Germany is), so it probably has nothing to do with regulations.
