I've always just called myself a brunette but after taking photos of my hair I noticed the red/light color in it. It's all virgin hair but it changes under different lighting. My Granpa commented that it looked auburn and ever since then I've been wondering what to call it.

It looks auburn to me, and 1b. Very beautiful! :D

I agree with the auburn color. Is this a "true" hair typing picture? One without any manipulation until dry? If so I'd say 1b or 1b/1c, but if not, there might be more wave that's hidden by damp detangling. Very beautiful regardless. :)

I agree on the colour as well, but I somehow get the feeling that you brushed or blowdried your hair or something after washing, so I'm hesitant to say a type.

You've a rich, warm, very beautiful colour! I think hair with some red pigments change a lot depending on the lighting, just look at the henna heads! I've naturally some red pigments and look like a run-of-the-mill blonde in most lightings, but in noon-o'clock bright sunlight I'm a bright and light strawberry blonde. So yours could definitely be auburn or light chestnut, but it seems like the lighting in the pictures is fairly yellow so it's difficult to say. Still, my favourite hair colours are the ones that are a bit ambiguous - is it brown or blonde? red or brown? - since there are so many shades and dynamics going on :)

Color, I think I'd call it titian, maybe light auburn? Hairtype isn't very different from mine if it's what it looks like brushed out, possibly 1c?

Aw thanks everyone. I did actually brush it before I took the photos but not blow dried. I'm so glad to consider myself an auburn now though, yay. Lol :)

Such a pretty shade of auburn! Congratulations!

Take some true hair typing pics when you get a chance--I'm willing to bet there's some hidden wave in there somewhere. :D

I'd say about 1a/b.

You have beautiful hair! I agree with everyone else, its a light auburn. It looks 1b to me as well, though I'm no expert.

Definitely take a proper hair typing pic, you might be 1c like me or even wavy!

Looks auburn to me! 1b, probably M or maybe even C for the strand thickness? Your hair looks quite coarse from the pictures!
It is very pretty!

You'd need whitebalanced photos in natural, indirect daylight to catch the truer colour. In these photos it does look somewhat red.

Your strands might be on the coarser side of things, and without seeing a true hair typing photo, I think you are somewhwre between 1b and 1c.

Pretty, heatlhy looking hair!
