I'm a teenager who occasionally struggles to control her acne, and I'm worried that buying and using some kind of head wrap will lead to even more forehead acne because of the trapped oil and dead skin. Any experiences with this?

Can you get a satin pillow case, or wrap a big scarf around the pillow, to avoid this potential problem? They should be washed regularly, but then again, if you've acne you should be washing any pillowcase regularly :) I had tonnes of problems with acne when I was a teenager, and switching out my pillowcase every night helped. (Some, my issues were really major though)

Yup I echo Siv, the key is to make sure you are washing regularly. I used to struggle with intense acne as a teenager too and washing bedding often was helpful. If you're worried you can get a head wrap for every day of the week (depending on how often you do your laundry) and swap them out as often as you would socks or underwear.

Would definitely use a satin pillowcase instead, or a scarf over the pillow. I can see how wearing something on your head would cause acne, as I've struggled with it for about 8 years. For me, sweat+tight fabric definitely produces acne.

If you use a head wrap, just have a couple of them and wear a different one every night and wash them every week.
Also, make sure to wash your face every night and morning gently (I have found that just keeping a consistent face washing schedule significantly reduced breakouts), no need to use super harsh acne medication based face wash products, you could even just use water on a clean wash cloth.

Back when I first started to wear hats every day, I found I was breaking out along my hairline constantly. Scrubbing my face every night, with or without soap, cleared it right up. The biggest thing for me was continuing to do it. If I stop for a night or two, I will break out again.
