Hello, gorgeous hair monsters!

I just wanted to introduce myself and my scen-hair-io. Any advice for the age-old fine/wavy problem of how to mitigate frizz and define curls without shrinking them down to strings? Good conditioners or moisturizers that those with fine/curly hair are loving? Styles that hide a scalp that always seems to want to reveal itself?

Looking forward to learning!

Hello and welcome! My cowlicks make my scalp show a lot, so I tend to part my hair to the side so that there's more to cover the big one. Then I just sort of deal with the little one on the opposite side

You look like a gorgeous hair monster yourself! :) :p That is some pretty hair!

I would recommend, if you haven't heard of it already, the curly girl method. It is a book by Lorraine Massey. True eye-opener. I currently do a *very* modified CG, but I learned a lot in how to manage my frizzy, poofy and wild hair.

Yes, cowlicks galore! Good to know I'm not the only one.

Thank you! :o if only it always looked like that

I've heard of the CG method, but never tried it before. I'll look into it, glad to know you've had some success with it.

my hair after an oil treatment

Hi.
My hair looked fine like yours just before last year! Then due to less stress my scalp got full of hair! I have fine hair that can be clearly seen on every surface. My friend said my strands are well fed with conditioner and have achieved the full thickness (of the strand) because I gave up blow dryers.
Many LHCers will tell you that taking care of your hair is a matter of trial and error. I discovered that my hair loves Coney conditioners. Today I had to relax in the bath tub so co-wash was inevitable due to hard water. I tried the Coney conditioner I gave up last month because "it makes fine hair fall flat". I literally shed only 2 strands! Just like the first day I used it! These light conditioners do nothing more to my hair than smelling nice. So as I said: trial and error. Good luck!

Hi there, welcome! I also have fine and wavy/curly hair, so I know exactly what you're talking about. I saw curly girl mentioned and want to second that. The washing and styling methods may help with the scalp reveals too. I bought the curly girl book on Amazon (there are usually used copies available), if you're interested in that.

But having said that I don't use the method myself ATM, as my hair is between SL & APL and it looks kind of straggly curly, I wear it up all the time. Your hair looks great, and I'm hopeful that mine will look better when it gets as long as yours. I condition in the shower and then use a spray leave-in conditioner too, and use my hands to smooth my hair which I think helps with the crazy fly aways I get, which I'd say helps a bit, kind of.
