Hi all!
I signed up here many years ago and... I don't know, was too shy, got too frustrated with my hair and didn't want to be a complainer. I'm not sure! I kind of set my hair on auto pilot for the last 4 years and just let it do its thing.
It all started back when I fried my shoulder length hair with a bad dye job in 2012, had to bleach it out and it was all over after that. I was pretty desperate. I had to cut it all off and tried all manner of things. I had ended up hear trying to find some way to manage it or fix it. Eventually I tried henna for the first time hearing it can help with damage some, but that was yet another disaster. I ended up just wearing a bandana for a year and just leaving it alone. I also decided then that I wanted to grow it out and have long hair for the first time in my life. Fast froward to the beginning of this year it had finally gotten long (for me). I started experimenting with some different products again and trying to pay more attention to it. I reached past the longest its ever been in my life, and realized I needed to be more attentive if I wanted it to keep going. My standard daily pony tail wasn't working any more either as it kept getting caught in things. I tried all manner of clips and was so frustrated, its just a bit too thick to stay up that way. That was when I tried a hair stick for the first time.... and wah-la! All my frustrations with getting my hair up ended and I like my hair again!
I looked all over the net for a hair stick to kind of celebrate the milestone and discovered Timberstone Turnings on Etsy. And that lead me back here as I looked up reviews. I decided to finally make my first post and say hello.
Currently, I hate my haircut thought. Lastly August I went and tried to get a little bit of shape put back into it, but the gal tapered it too much in response to me asking for a U shape, I now have more kind of a V. I'm afraid to do anything about it and am just hoping it gets long enough to where I can cut the U back into it maybe next year.
Otherwise, I need to get into a better routine with it as I don't regularly deep condition as I cant seem to find anything that seems to make a difference in my hair.
So, hello! Glad to finally not be a lurker.
