Hello everyone,

I'm here with another question for you. I dyed my hair with L'Oréal Excellence thinking it will cover my occasional grey hair. However, after three washes the white hairs were completely visible again. Now, I need to use another brand that really sticks to the grey hair well. I am thinking about going back to Palette where I didn't have this problem at all. Do you have another suggestion? I need a permanent hair dye, brands I can get my hands on are L'Oréal, Syoss, Palette, Wella, Garnier. I read somewhere that lower quality hair dyes like Palette tend to stick better and from my experience, it can be true but I am not sure. Palette is okay though I am confused by the way they number their hair dyes so I am never sure what is the level and shade.

GO SILVER ~ it is a lot easier.... cheaper....not damaging.....and you get free high/low lights :cheer:

Sorry...I am no help :o

Good luck in whatever you decide

Oh...ok; thought I would give it a try :eyebrows:

These days younger girls dye their hair silver/gray/white ....so you never know who will be open to it.

And many times when you find silver this early.....it doesn't fill in steady for many years.
It just adds a little sparkle, and it takes time and money trying to cover hair that resists color ...sometimes with frustrating results

Well, I don't really look good in cool colours. I know.... I was stupid enough to dye my hair platinum blonde and I looked stupid xD I am aiming at coppery dark blond. I think I will use Palette and mix their strawberry blond with medium blonde 2:1 and hope for the best xD I just wanted to ask other users whether they have good experiences with other brands. I thought L'Oréal is the best and maybe it is... But it is made to also protect the hair so it's not as strong as the cheap ones like Palette.

I used to use the cheap clairol box colors and it covered my grays just fine. I do however, have naturally light ash blond so it didn't take much color to get the gray back to blond. Feria was another brand I really liked, their color isn't as flat as some of the cheaper brands.

Are you in the EU? If Palette works for you, why not stick with it. And don't think that because something is "cheaper" it is necessarily *worse*. That's quite often not true.

Yeah, I am in the EU. I think I will stick to Palette. I will mix light copper and middle blonde because I heard that palette often goes darker than the box image shows.

I don't think we can get this in the EU.

OP, my mom uses Syoss, this type (https://www.deonlinedrogist.nl/syoss-cream-middenblond-p-51078.html). It may not be your particular color, but it's the cream version, and it covers her gray *perfectly* Total gray coverage! She also had the one with the added oil (oleo intense: https://www.deonlinedrogist.nl/syoss-oleo-intense-licht-blond-p-54757.html) and that worked great as well! My mom is all over gray, so...

Yeah, we don't have this brand in the EU. I had my eyes on Syoss as well but I don't know many people who use it so I wasn't sure about the outcome. I will check it out.

Also my issue with Palette is that the numbers don't really say anything about the level and shade of the hair colour so it's always a risk.
