Can anyone shed the light on PVP/VA Copolymer?

Does anyone know what the ingredient PVP/VA Copolymer is?

Is it damaging to the hair?

I recently had to use a gel (Giovanni's L.A. Natural Styling Gel) to control my frizz and saw this ingredient on the list. I think it is what helps to hold the hair, but I am not sure if it is damaging to the hair. If anyone has any info, that would be fantastic! Thank you :flower:.

It is a polymer coating, composed partly of the same ingredient used in hairsprays.

Damaging? No. Can it build-up? Yes, but so can many things.

Clarifying should remove it, no problem.

Thanks Ktani. That is good to know. Sometimes conditioner and oil just wont do and I need a little extra help.
