So I couldn't find a thread that already existed for this, but lately Pinterest has been telling me I should try a new recipe labeled as "Best DIY Hair Gel Ever."

https://digprimal.com/2015/09/18/best-diy-hair-gel-ever/

It's a small mix of store bought aloe and gelatin and I was wondering if anyone had heard of this or tried it before? I've heard many raves about flaxseed gel but since I already have gelatin and aloe hanging around (and since Pinterest hardly ever steers me wrong) I can't help but be intrigued!

I heard of some use gelatin as a protein treatment and it followed by a moisture treatment because it can leave hair stiff, dry and such so I can't imagine it being used as a hair gel  hmmm idk. I'm sure someone will chime in soon.

My kneejerk reaction is "just use aloe as a gel". I use this stuff, myself: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003HUJK24/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_dp_T2_rqErzbBJ5Y5N8

That said, if you have it on-hand and don't have to go get it? You're not gonna hurt your hair if you try it.

Ooh, thank you for posting that! It's a much better price than what I'm currently using!

I'm glad it helped! I need to order more. I bought some knock-off safeway variant and it reminded me that there was a reason I used that one. This instance was not a case of the generic does the same.

Still not sure what to do with the safeway knock off. Probably for some kind of skin soothing, depending on what the dermatologist says. Or just put it on the "free stuff" table at work.
