I made a thread on Friday asking if the amount of hair that shed for me was too much. A similar amount hd shed for the PST 2-3 washes. Here it is:

Here is the amount that shed on that day:

I mentioned in that thread that my washing routine can take as long as 40 minutes and a lot of you seemed really shocked. After doing a bit of research,I can see why. So today, I took a less amount of time. It was about 20 minutes (which I know is still quite long) , in which washing out conditioner took about 5 mins compared to my usual 15 minutes!

this is the amount that shed:

I'm sure a lot of you would agree that this is considerably less. Bearing in mind that my hair doesn't really shed when dry, I think this is a good improvement. I don't wake up with hair on my pillow or on clothes. It doesn't shed a lot when I comb it and i shed a few hairs when I brush it. This is about how much it would shed before. Bit weird that it suddenly started happening even though I didn't change much. Definitely going to try to shorten the amount of time I spend washing my hair.

That is so much better! It would seem that you were causing the hairs to shed prematurely with such an extensive and vigorous washing routine...

I take about 4 minutes to wash my hair... and about 4 hours to dry it (air drying blows!). I have reduced a lot of my shedding by trying to leave my hair alone.

My washing / conditioning routine lasts 12-15 min., this includes the 2x2min. that the conditioner is supposed to "sit". So meh, about 10 min. all in all. That's *more* than enough for me.

Glad to read you have figured what was causing the excessive shedding.

Try to wash your hair as gently as you wash your face. Less manipulation is always best. Thank you for the update. Good luck
