Well, do you have one (or some)? Please describe said mane of hair, & share why you love it so much, & post a photo of the person.

Of course, if it is some random long-haired woman whom you occasionally spot shopping at your local mall, I am NOT asking you to leap out from the food court with your camera, snap a photo of a stunned stranger & upload it here. IF it is a photo on Google Images, or a You Tube hair channel person, a woman in a painting or vintage photo, or a willing friend, member here, or family member, please share!!! We APL 'desperados' can use all the inspiration we can GET! I'll go scare up some of mine, & I'll be sharing them in this thread.

Mod Note: We have a policy against hotlinking copyrighted images on LHC. If it's not your own photo, please just post a link instead.

My ultimate hair idol is Alia Nasyrova (@aliia_more on Instagram), but aside from her, I've never admired anyone's hair as much as I have the hair of the people in LHC...and their photos are already all over the place here so no need for me to post. :D

I grew up ADORING Sissi's movies, so I guess my hair idol would be the empress herself, and Romy Schneider in those movies :crush:
When I was like 6 years old, I didn't want to be just any princess, I used to play I was Sissi :o

I have about 10 favorites, and it's funny they are all on here. Every time I come across their photos, I can't help but think of how much I'd love to have that hair.

Some of them have black hair, some blonde, some red, some brown lol. It's hard to pick just one.

I love curly hair. I don't know if you guys know the telenovella "Violetta" - it's on the Disney channel here in the EU. At night they give re-runs of it, so I watch that while in my bed and just flipping the channels, trying to get to sleep. There's a character on there called "Nadia" and she has the most gorgeous curly hair. I love that so much. Makes me wish mine was curly.

Here are a few pictures of her:

Carina Amami (http://www.sms-models.de/best-ager/women/details/fotomodel/carina-amami.html)(< pics link) was my inspiration back in 2013 growing out from a chin length bob.

I saw pics of her hair from SL to WL, and even though she is about 10 years younger with slightly thicker hair, she helped create my vision for length and color.

THIS was the pic I always kept in mind as I grew my length/silver out

http://www.sms-models.de/uploads/tx_nbmodellkartei/editorial13.jpg

Pinterest was a great inspiration as well for pics of mature women my age with long, silver hair.

This brunette in J.W. Waterhouse's painting is one of mine. She has very fine hair, but it is full enough to not look sparse. I'd type it as a 2 a &, with the waves stretched out, probably tbl. http://www.jwwaterhouse.com/view.cfm?recordid=4

What a knock-out! What a figure! And her hair is gorgeous. I prefer yours, though, because of all the fullness & waves, & the length, too. Mine was a chin-length Bob with bangs back in mate 2015. Somewhere, I have a photo. People said it looked cute. It really wasn't bad: just so NOT what I wanted, & it was a forced big chop.

I NEED this hair!!! Can you believe how spectacular it is?!? Whenever I feel like giving up, or get irrational fears that, IF my hair grows past BSL it will all abruptly fall out (for no rational reason) I look at hair like hers, that is WAY beyond BSL & did NOT abruptly fall out. https://www.pinterest.com/source/isabellenaturelle.blogspot.ch

Yes Carina Amami is very pretty! :crush:

My hair is FLUFF after a shampoo....fine silver that curls due to tons of new growth from crown to hemline(buno definition)....and it looks NOTHING like hers in person :rollin:

On dry air days and if I bun it while drying I will get some sleekness to it.

Believe me, pics are deceiving...I'm not sure I would show it off in person ...compared to other gorgeous hair seen here. :o

Only 1 LHC person has seen my hair on skype and I was actually embarrassed to have it seen; it was due for a wash and hers is AMAZING :thud:

Plus my length is shorter for the landmarks because of my short (and shrinking) torso, and I have tiny/compressed buns.

There....it is off my chest....repressed feelings of insecurity for the past 4 years here :p LOL

BUT...it feels good to ME and is easier for me to manage (vs short), it is lots of fun styling it with various hair toys, and I no longer care what others here (at home) think of an old bird with long silver (compared to their cut/colored/curled) styles) :wigtongue:

Nothing wrong with your hair, let me tell you...it's gorgeous! But I agree that we all have our moments of insecurity about our hair, and other things too, it's just one of those things, and let us not allow those insecurities prevent us from doing things we otherwise might. :)

YES!!!Sisi L'Impératrice!!! I am a big fan of hers, too. I have a book about her life (not an easy one!) & a book of Winterhalter's paintings, in which there are several portraits of the beautiful long haired empress. She was every bit as beautiful in photographs as she was under the artist's brushes. Her hair swept past her knees!http://i67.tinypic.com/nd0c5h.jpg *edit: I also bought the Sisi Barbie!*

She's SO funny! And absolutely one of the sweetest humans, as well.

I recently learned of ANOTHER hair idol that I'd forgotten about: Amy Lee from Evanescence. Her hair in My Immortal has been my mental image for "perfect hair" for ages (even though I forgot everything BUT the hair itself for several years haha).

Lots of LHC-ers, especially SarahLabyrinth.
Yes, Crystal Gayle. I remember seeing her on TV in the 1970s and admiring her hair.
Also a Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman fan. I had my hair permed, dyed it reddish, and grew it to BSL after that film came out. Unfortunately I didn't know much about good haircare back then, and needless to say, the ends became very dry and split.
Another painting by John William Waterhouse - The Lady of Shalott.
Also admired Holly Marie Combs's hair (Piper in Charmed) sadly my hair will never be that thick.

Idols Jane Seymour or Dana Delany - I just love their hair. And what about Christie Brinkley? - she's stunning. Notice how all of these ladies are all over 40 - and I thought women weren't supposed to have their hair long after that age... With me becoming 40 in October, it makes me feel better about starting my long hair journey now:)

I used to think that way, too. But, I'm at APL going to classic, & i'm 52 & the longer length is very flattering! MUCH better than the chin length Bob with bangs I used to have.
It was cute but boring & very generic.

As for my hair idols, I have always been partial to long very dark hair with either those perfect 2c waves, or rich 1b black hair that is not quite pin straight (think Catherine Zeta Jones in Zorro) & Penelope Cruz (before the auburn highlights. Typically, women with skin as brown as mine HAVE naturally very dark hair. My natural colour is a medium reddish brown, that gets redder with sunlight, beach holidays or pool water (a genetic *wink* from my 5 Irish genes!). I've been fighting the red since I turned nine & discovered boxed dye. http://i67.tinypic.com/29aqmu.jpg http://i65.tinypic.com/15s77l5.jpg

I've said this a few times but i don't care, can't stop won't stop!

Amy Lee, ESPECIALLY during the Fallen era. Here are some links to pictures via Instagram that I might (definitely) have saved to a collection titled "Hair Length Goals" that consists entirely of pictures of her hair.....

https://instagram.com/p/BQqIFObAbEx/

https://instagram.com/p/BUzMDvdDOmI/ - apparently this is her natural texture? Life isn't fair 😩

https://instagram.com/p/BUK3xV8g0rY/

https://instagram.com/p/BVE3_WsgQsG/

https://instagram.com/p/BObPFkTDTpM/ - again, killing me with that natural texture that I've always wanted.

https://instagram.com/p/BUHiyvClQwJ/ - this is a video because....can we just with that ponytail and it's movement?

(Last one I swear) Here's a video clip of her roller skating (skating starts at 1:10 but her hair looks great from start to finish) and oh my GOODNESS look at that glorious hair!

Picture an average of these women with classic length hair and you have my goal for now.
I also have a picture of my doppelgänger (a person not related to you who looks like your twin) somewhere, with classic length red hair. That's what really determined my current goal.

Oh my gosh yes! The ladies in Practical Magic. Now, the funny thing is, when I see their hair I still totally swoon, but I didn't realize until today that my hair is longer!! Woohoo! I love the Aunts, their hair is sensational <3 .

Omg YES!!! To this day I harshly judge my own pigtail braids for not being as glorious as Sally and Gillian's.
(I'm sure they were wearing extensions or something for the movie but still)

So many mentioned already, some I did not know about. If I were young and found LHC, I think I would be annoying everyone around Me, talking about growing My hair, and showing them pictures. Oh wait... I do that now! :o

Cher was My first. 1971, The Sonny And Cher Comedy Hour. Soon after I saw Crystal Gayle on TV, and she became My new "OMG, I want hair like hers!!!" Jane Seymour (Solitaire in Live And Let Die) was another, but I was not old enough to go see the movie, and her hair was not as long. But, she was My "more sensible" go to when asking to be allowed to grow My hair.

Years later, Splash! comes out, and My hair is longer. I completely freaked over Daryl Hannah's hair! It is still close to My idea of perfect for Me. Funny thing is, after that movie came out, I got compared to her SOOOO many times. I still do oddly enough. Then the 80s hit, and as we got deeper into it, women's hair got shorter. And shorter. And I would get criticized, but no way was I cutting it. These days... a little time on YouTube and Pinterest is all it takes to have My head spinning, sooo many girls with beautiful, inspiring long hair!!! :D Oh! And, I guess My Witchy side... Practical Magic is My all time favorite movie! The hair, although extensions, is just... :joy: (ditto for the house! fake also... (sigh) )

How could I forget Jane Seymour?! I watched Dr. Quinn almost religiously as a child, and her hair was so beautiful!

Yes, me too! I used to watch Dr. Quinn back in the 1990s when it first aired on tv. Yeah, Jane Seymour's hair was gorgeous on Dr. Quinn also! Oh, and I forgot another idol...and that is the beautiful redhead Andrea Evans!!! She starred on the daytime soap opera One Life To Live back from the late 1970s up until the late 1980s. I just loved her hip length beautiful red mane back then!!

My biggest hair idols in high school was Luna Lovegood (Evanna Lynch) from Harry Potter series :D I loved her looong, wavy, blonde hair, it was one of those things about her that made her look so special and stand out from the rest. Those were propably mostly extensions, but I didn't care, I was inspired. I started growing my hair because of her when I was 15-20 years old and wanted tailbone/classic length (well I didn't know those terms then). Later I cut my hip length hair to collarbone :justy: I also had other hair idols but nothing so significant. I've always liked hair styles in period dramas, since they usually tend to look more natural. One of my favourites was Christina Ricci's character in the movie Sleepy Hollow

Love Lene's lovich hair, sometimes it looks like she wears extensions but other times it looks like her own hair, but with her who knows, she wears all those awesome hair silks and ribbons!

Most girls in China have extremely long hair, but only some have such long healthy beautifully permed hair like this Korean model. If I had to choose an Asian star as my hair idol, it's Liu Yi Fei

A girl with curly hair I saw on FB. I fell in love with her hair the first time I saw her pictures. Mind you, I knew nothing about hair and I thought that was a ''hairstyle" not an actual natural hair texture so I started searching the internet how to grow my hair so that I can ''style'' it like that. I was suprised when I found out my hair was curly after babying it.

Her hair is still my inspiration but my current hair idol is Spankie Valentine. Anytime I watch her videos I'm like :agape:

Yes, Anne Hathaway's hair in Ella Enchanted was gorgeous! I don't know if it was extensions or not, but still beautiful!
