Hi everyone!
I am going off bleach (since july 2016) in order to have my natural hair to my wedding in june 2018. Two years is (according to my hairdresser), just about enough for a updo, but I am super stressed and anxious that it will not work out. Also, this horrible growing out phase is really getting on my self-esteem:( I am joining this community to get some motivation and support from you great ladies and your hair projects:o
Have a great day everyone!

Welcome! :)
2 years should give you at least up to shoulders, much longer (more like APL) if you keep it in layers and don't have it "topped up" (aka blunt cut) every so often.
Can I ask why you want to get rid of the bleach for the wedding if it doesn't make you feel the best? :) :flower:

Thank you:)I hope you're right;)
I grew out long natural hair for 4 years ago, but I didn't love it until I got really pretty blonde highlights in it in spring 2014. This is the only period i can remember really loving my hair. When I went to get a touch up of the highlights in november 2014. My hairdresser was sick so I got an appointment with another one, who totally wrecked my hair. My original hairdresser fixed this by bleaching the whole hair, and after that I have had bleached hair. Since I originally have thin and wavy hair, I liked the way the bleach made my hair easier to manage and style. However, i wasn't totally happy and during spring 2016 I tried to change my color twice (march and july) in order to "get back" to the hair I had before the disaster. I did not understand that this was impossible without growing a new head of virgin hair and getting new highlights, and the two attempts just made my hair too processed as well as giving me a couple of broad dark lowlights which had way too much copper in them compared to my natural hair color. Suddenly, I felt so ugly and all I longed for was my natural hair from years ago. This has been a pretty emotional journey with much regret for "ruining" my beloved hair I spent so much time growing out.

OMG that is terrible! :( We've -sadly- almost all of us had experiences like these, where a hairdresser messes up or doesn't do what we want. I hope your journey goes well. There is the growing out bleach thread where you'll find tons more support! I'll link it for you!
