So I've been watching video tutorials on youtube for plaited styles (think Game of Thrones, Vikings), as well as other styles, but they all seem to use lots of backcombing, hair inserts, thickening extensions and texture products to obtain the look. I was wondering if any of you know of a youtuber or vlogger who uses only their own hair for their plaites styles?

Torrinpaige on You Tube does many wonderful styles, plaited and others as well :) She uses only her own hair.

Ladollyvita333 / Ladollyvita33 are channels that are about the same as Torrinpaige's channel, but for BSL. She does use her own hair in a lot of videos and has a dictionary for braid styles.

I really like Silvousplaits on youtube, she does lots of sci-fi/fantasy movie inspired hair styles, and as far as I recall her methods are LHC-friendly.

Try here:

Lots of videos. Most (possibly all) of the buns here are commonly worn by many here. While I haven't viewed every video, I would be shocked if any contained backcombing.

Also here, this is fun:

ETA: here for more on interlaced braids: http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=131436 (This is the video i link immediately above)

Also we have a hair style forum. I don't know if it's permission locked or not.
