I am wondering if any of you use tea tree oil?
- If yes, do you mix it with other products such as shampoo, conditioner, cholesterol, or other oils?
- Which combination has worked the best for you?
- Did it take long for you to see the health of your scalp improve?
I was thinking of mixing tea tree oil with cholesterol, but I don't know if that's such a good idea (wanted your recommendations before experimenting with my hair)
I asked this on a thread regarding hair cholesterol, but I don't think it was the correct thread.
Thanks in advance for your responses.

I use tea tree oil straight, just by itself on my scalp mostly as a scent. It also sometimes goes in whatever I'm washing my hair with, mostly for the smell but I think it also has some antibacterial properties? I could be totally wrong about that. I know it also deters lice, which doesn't hurt.

I also use it straight on my scalp when I have itchies or sores. Its a pretty good anti-fungal so it helps with my SD.

You can use it straight, but only on a few spots to spot treat, but not on a big patch as it can be an irritant then (then you really should dilute it into a carrier oil).

I put some in a bottle with vinegar, then I use a squirt of that mixed with water for a rinse, when I remember. I'm not sure it makes a big difference, but my scalp isn't prone to much besides the occasional zit anyway, and tea tree oil never did much for my hormonal acne.

I started using tea tree oil straight on scalp. Recently my eyebrows started to itch. Read that demodex mites can cause itching. Applied tea tree oil straight using a Q tip. Got instant relief. My hair wasn't itching much, but still applied. Had to take anti histamine one day because of the itching. Now I don't have any itching whatsoever. Looking back I think I was allergic to something in the air.

I put a few drops (around seven ?) of it in a bottle with equal amounts of white vinegar and cold water. I empty this bottle on my hair as a final rinse.
Before adding tea tree to it, my scalp was slightly itchy and flaky only one day after washing it, but now I can go five to six days without washing my hair before I start to get itches and flakes again.

I buy a tea tree oil based shampoo from Trader Joe's https://www.amazon.com/Trader-Joes-Peppermint-Eucalyptus-Botanicals/dp/B002LMBLTY
I'm not sure if you have one near you, but if not here is the link to it from Amazon if you are interested. I have struggled with dry, flakey and flakey scalp since I was a teenager (well over 10 year) and have tried nearly everything to get rid of it. I have dark brown hair and it was noticeable, and as you can imagine embarrassing. My mom suggested this to me back then and I have been using it every since. It has been the only thing that has helped keep it under control. Hope this helps :)

I love love love tea tree oil, I use so many different tea tree products. I recently started using a tea tree & mint conditioner, but I also use tea tree oil in coconut oil as a treatment for my ends. it also works well on acne if you get pimples lol!
