A favorite at shorter lengths. Generally associated with claw clips. The objective is to have the ends displayed similar to the tail display of a male peacock.

What tutorials and variations on this style do you like?

Ooh. Used to be that my ends/layers would point straight up or flop to the sides of the spring when I tried this with a claw clip, so I've taken to doing it with a u-shaped hairpin instead. Now my hair is getting too long to do it without modifying it a bit, so I should probably be folding the middle under the twist/roll before I pin it. May attempt again soon.

I so wish I had other angles of the first one - I have more pictures from when my hair was down that day, but none of the back of the twist.

I wore this style all the way to hip length from around shoulder/APL. When the tail became too heavy, I started folding it under and clamping the claw on top of it, so it was a compact vertical "bun" like structure. But it wasn't a "bun", really. It kept me content and comfortable until I could manage to do a proper bun. I loved that style! I think I have a picture in my album of me wearing a claw (for those that can access it) and that's the peacock twist on me (folded under a few times).

That looks lovely Wispe! The hairpin is a good idea, it's pretty well-concealed. :D

Not sure if I did this correctly, but I mostly followed the first YouTube tutorial that popped up when I searched for a peacock twist... since my hair's way too long for a peacock twist, I just sort of twisted it a few times around instead of just once, because the length of the tail after just one twist looked a bit silly. :p

It doesn't fan out like a tail of a peacock unfortunately, but I kinda enjoy having a short tail for a change, it's comfortable too!:o

Those peacock twists are so pretty wispe and Aredhel! I did this challenge back in April but forgot to post my pic. Here it is.
