Where do you all buy your paranda's? I checked etsy and only saw one shop selling one for $40 for 12 inches. This seems like a lot to me for a strip of fabric.

I made the two I have, and used this video to walk me through it. Compared to the price of yarn and the 5 minutes it will take you to make it, yea $40 is way too much. DIY is the way to go on this one.

It's very easy to make one, I used a youtube tutorial. I've started experimenting with using ribbon and silk scarves instead of yarn as well

Heck, I get acrylic yarn in fun colors. Braids for the local sportsball team, etc. :)

When you want to make really long ones, I suggest wrapping between two chairs.

Totally make it. I have to pause the video at the knot part each time. Sometimes I cut the yarn while I am working as I work with kids who may be also doing crafts while talking to me (I use a long table as a unit of measurement) and finish the knot part at the end of my work day.

I really want to make one now. I think I'll make mine out of silk or satin so the cotton doesn't dry out my hair.

How has your experience with ribbon and scarves been?
