Ok I know not everyone has seen the film yet but I couldn't help noticing the various hairstyles for Belle. Yes, her hair is apl but I kept making mental notes on the half ups etc. Anyone else seen it and want to comment the hair? Probably going attempt a couple tomorrow. Just so excited about the film! :)

Haven't seen it yet but I'm also aiming to see it next week... or the week after. The first thing I usually notice too when I watch fantasy and period movies are the hairstyles on the women. :p

I am looking forward to seeing it but I couldn't care less about the hair styles lol. It just looks like a brilliant film!

I'm going to see it in a few hours! I'll keep an eye out on the hairstyles for inspiration when I go to a formal dinner and have to dress up.

I haven't seen it yet but I plan to this week if nothing else comes up. I've been eyeing the hairstyles since the trailers came out though!

And then of course there's the costuming and jewelry.. Finding decent photos is hard. -.-

I saw it yesterday and spent the entire film trying to work out how to recreate her hair. I would maybe argue that her hair is a tad closer to BSL than APL (though not yet at BSL either? Are there any inbetween milestones??) but it's hard because she was not stood up straight for most of the length shots I saw. I'm glad to see a princess with hair shorter than waist though - makes me feel better about my own length!

I know one style was just a half up of sorts with loosely braided rope braids pulled back. I took a photo today of it on myself and I'll share if I can figure out how to get them off my phone.

Edit:

Obviously my hair is much more fine than Emma's so it's going to look different.

I saw it, and particularly liked her hair for the ballroom scene. :)

Ohh I can't wait to see it. All the photos and clips I've seen from the movie look gorgeous! Thank you Tawny1992 and reilly0167 for posting those videos, I think I might do one of these styles right now :D

I LOVED her hair in this movie! It was simple and casual, but so pretty. And really complimented her features. There was a bun she had during a scene outside in the snow at one point (when her and the beast were talking?) that I really fell in love with. Need to track it down now...

Saw it last night and had tears of joy and nostalgia! I liked it better than the original and Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite Disney films!
I loved her easy styles whilst wearing the infamous blue dress (love what they did with that as well!)

I wore my hair in the double twist ponytail style today- though I have wurly hair and no blue bow, unfortunately, so it certainly looks different! Super easy to do though!

It looks lovely on you Kellwise Gamgee. The double twist pony tail is the one I want to try. My hair is currently too short for it, I'm hoping to see my youngest cousin soon to try it on her. The double twist pony tail is the one she's asked for when we saw the film together, so I'm glad to hear its easy because I still struggling to recreate Elsa's hair for her properly.

I just saw the movie yesterday and I totally fell in love with her leafy hair piece in her half-up bun during the ballroom scene. :crush: If only I knew where to find such a thing!

Thanks! Look up youtube videos for a "Katniss Braid"- closest thing to an Elsa braid I've found! It's just a dutch braid! It took me some practice, but it's not bad!!

Thanks, I'll have to check it out. I hadn't thought of the Katniss braid, though my braiding skills aren't great but luckily my cousin likes letting me practice on her.
As for the leafy head piece, would one of those fabric headbands with wire in work? I'm use that's what I saw in one of the YouTube videos for the beauty and beast hair styles. Sadly I missed that part in the cinema so I'm not sure what it looks like.

Daw it looks lovely in you Kellwise! Did a variation in that earlier today. It's since frazzled into a mess from laying around in bed with this cold so alas no photos.

Hoping to see the film again this week with my sister if I'm feeling up to it.

I just came back from seeing it and I'm already trying to figure out how to do Belle's first hairstyle on my daughter...
