I've been away from the hairtoy scene for too many years now to know the current makers of quality toys. I also need custom work done as I want my sticks/forks a lot shorter than what's offered as standard (working length 2.5 to 3 inches, and not much of a topper). So help a returning newcomer out. Who can I turn to for custom orders? Good quality, smooth not to snag hairs etc. are givens of course. Materials wanted are primarily wood and acrylics, but metal is not out of the question.

The main ones that come to my mind would be:

- EaduardHairsticks (https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/EaduardHairsticks) on Etsy does straight acrylic sticks, I don't know if he does custom work, but I can't imagine why he wouldn't be able to make short ones for you if you asked.
- Grah-Toe Studios (https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/grahtoestudio) on Etsy has some top quality sticks and forks with antler and wood, and does takes custom orders.
- mariya4woodcarving (https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/mariya4woodcarving) on Etsy, I've purchased quite a few forks/sticks from her and I'm not sure if she does custom stuff, but she does carry a lot of wooden and antler sticks without toppers, and I'm sure you can request shorter ones. :)

Someone was selling tees for hair. I can't remember who it was but they were really cute.

I'd add hacksaw007. And second Rich at Outnumbered novelties. He's a doll to work with, and he will do any length. Wood and acrylic.
Crockett Mountain, too. Forks are her thing.

And let's not forget Quattro or Ravenslair (although she hasn't been active for a while).

Thanks for the suggestions all. Time to hit up Etsy and have a look through their catalogues.

Blondiesturn occationally has stuff on Etsy too, but she doesn't do custom orders anymore I think.

I'm currently doing a custom order through AKCwoodworking on etsy. I'm not 100% sure about the length thing, because I usually need to make stuff longer rather than shorter, but Allen is an absolute treasure to work with, and does his stuff really, really fast.

Here it is: https://www.etsy.com/shop/HairTees

I only see one selection; not sure if she is closing down?
You can message here about possible choices; look through her sales and reviews.

They are cute and hold a bun and half up well.
But the bead loosens easily....so just don't handle by the bead (at all)....I had to re-cement all of mine.

That seems simple to do your own.
I wonder what the maker means by "long?"
