Hello beautiful hair growers!

I'm always trying to wear my hair in a bun. The problem is, I suck at being able to actually put my hair in these creative buns! I couldn't find anywhere else that it would be appropriate to ask these questions, so here goes:

I can't do a sock bun. I keep trying, but the problems are: I have layers, my hair isn't staying tucked or in place, I'm not tucking tight enough (it comes unraveled) and the bun is so big it takes up my entire head!

Is there anyone out there who might be able to help me?

Thanks!

Yes I remember seeing a youtube video for sock bun for layered hair. Let me see if I can find it!

Here it is, ignore all the hair cooking, ha ha! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EQW3WpVn24

When you get better you can probably leave out the ponytail holder.

I tend to put my hair in a ponytail, then wrap all the hair around it. It has to be around shoulder length or so! Once you get the hang of it, it's easy peasy :)

^Yup....practice makes perfect!

And don't be afraid to make modifications...use more/less fingers, secure with spin pins, have a ponytail or braided base as you learn (or keep it for slippery hair).

Pha buns and LWB's are my favorites; cinnamon buns I like to secure with large alligator clips or ficcares.

I use sticks for pha buns, ponytail based, or braided buns; they slip out out otherwise.

It will come :cheer:

This is the best one I've seen. Thanks for sharing. :)
