I've been using Herbal Essence Hello Hydration for a couple of months now, and it was working great. But recently, it hasn't been helping my hair all that much. My hair as a whole has been getting drier, and tangles more easily, and takes a dang long while to safely detangle. I am hoping that switching conditioners can help me with this, but idk what to switch to! Anyone have advice? Thanks bros.

I read the thread title and was going to recommend HE HH (I tried it at lapushka's recommendation and love it too) until I read the entire post! :p But if you don't mind cones, I also like Aussie conditioners (Mega Moist, 3MM) lately.

I most definitely don't mind cones. I wish I could go cone-free, but my hair needs cones for detangling purposes. My cone-free experience was a bad one lol. Any good clarifying shampoos out there?

Herbal Essences Dazzling Shine (discontinued)
Pantene Aqua Light
Pantene volumizing shampoo
I think the Pantene Ice Shine isn't bad either (but not sure if it has silicones). The ones I mentioned above do not have them.

My very favorite clarifying shampoo Is Neutrogena anti residue shampoo. I don't like the smell of it but it seems to work better than anything else I've tried.

Oh yes, Pantene do a specific clarifying shampoo as well. Used to be a clear bottle with a navy top; it's different now.

I think you need to do a good clarifying wash, and if you want to switch I love HE SMOOTH, the old one that is pink with the roses?
Also if your really dry, I might try coconut oil treating your after clarifying so it really gets in the follicles. But good luck!

There is Horse Mane N' Tail Gentle Clarifying Shampoo out there. I co-wash 5 times a week using a moisturizing conditioner, and I only have to clarify once a month.

I have been using VO5 clarifying shampoo for about the last year. I only use it every few months, but it seems to work well.

There's a whole thread (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=140936) over on the products forum about clarifying shampoos, that might help. I know that here, the Hello Hydration has small amounts of protein (that's the corn silk/zea mays extract in the label) so if you're protein sensitive a clarifying wash might be something you need with it after a while. I know I get that way with the Long-Term Relationship shampoo, I have to grab my clarifying shampoo once every month or two or I start to get tangly ends.

I love Shea Moisture. It is a little heavy on my hair so this is what I do: First before I get in the shower I will put a preferred mixture of oils on my ends, then in the shower I wet my hair and apply conditioner on all of my length and put my hair in a top bun. After I shave or feel like the conditioner has sat enough I shampoo my scalp and run the shampoo down my ends 2x. I like to shampoo twice because I feel it gets my hair the cleanest. For shampoo I nature's gate awapuhi volumizing shampoo.

My favorite duo has always been the Awapuhi shampoo and The Detangler conditioner by Paul Mitchel. It's amazing, even just using the shampoo makes my hair soft, manageable and easy to work with. Hands down the best hair product I own.

My current favorite clarifying shampoos are Paul Mitchell shampoo 2 (clarifying) and shampoo 3 (clarifying and chelating).

Clarifying on a regular basis is a must for some folks. Because I have a naturally oily scalp it gets oily only two days after a shampoo. For oily scalped folks, clarifying is a must because products buildup on our scalps more easily and make the entire affair worse. 😭

My weekly wash is a clarifying / sulfate wash as well. Sometimes the lengths are washed, other times no. It depends on my mood.
