So I have been on LHC as a member for about two years now. (Wow, its been that long already?!)

I go back and forth from lurking to actively commenting and I have been in a bit of a lurk faze lately.

for my first year on LHC I took photos every 3 months to track my growth.

I can't remember why I stopped taking pictures every 3 months at this point, maybe I started lurking more again.

Here is today, I'm still in my relaxing clothes but I figured that wouldn't be a problem. I did join waist by Christmas 2016 and I'd say that I have more or less reached that. I was a little worried about making it because I did trim on 1- 1.5 inches in either Oct or Nov because I felt like my ends were a little see through. I still think my ends are fairly thinner than the rest of the length but I still have a few old layers that need to be cut out eventually.

My waves are a little stretched out because I last washed my hair 2 days ago.

I meet up with some old high school friends and they marveled on how "long my hair is getting". Some days I feel like it is starting to get long, some days not so much. Posts like these really help you put everything in perspective though.

My plan for 2017 is to keep growing, I might trim if my ends feel bad. I've gotten much more relaxed when it comes to my hair now. It is still up a lot, but it is also down much more than it was in my first year here. Most days it goes up and down a few times which does not bother me much.

I have been finding that my hair wants to compact a lot more now then it did say 8 months ago. I'm not sure if I should contribute that to it been better moisturized.

Going to add pictures of action shots. brb.

Here are some bonus action shots. The time stamp on the photos let me know I took these on April 11 2016, so I'm due for another round of photos soon.

What is the name of the bun in the first bun picture? It's so pretty and I don't think I have seen that style before.

My life exploded so I have been largely MIA, but I and my hair are both great and I'm glad to see that yours is too! Happy to see the tulip wood fork in your action shots. :) I'm looking forward to my 6 year anniversary post in May now! ;)

Once again thank you everyone!

VersLaLumiere Thank you! I'm hoping to see good growth over the next year or two. Too be honest I sometimes get a little frustrated trying to measure my hair, my spread sheet always tell me I'm getting so little growth, but pictures seems to show a fair bit of growth. As long as it keeps growing!

Moon Rabbit Thank you! If I am remembering correctly, I think most of those buns are disc buns, just maybe that 6th one's orientation was a little different from the others.

Lapushka Thank you! It makes keeping your hair up a little more fun if the updos look nice! I've been experimenting with some crown braids lately. Only on days that I have more time to get ready though.

ephemeri When I come out of lurking I often hang out in the conventional products forum, I think you can tell by my mass of action shots. I find it much easier to take a picture of an action shot then of all my hair down. I think some of the "healthy looking hair" comes from having dark hair and a little bit of oil, but I do think in general my hair has become more healthy since my time before LHC.

Embee Thank you! I hope pretty and healthy hair is in both our futures. :)

RavenRose Thank you! Your hair is looking pretty at bsl!

Wispe Thank you! You are killing it with your pink hair. In high school I had my hair all different colours with vegi dyes. Of course as you can see by how dark my hair is that meant a lot of bleaching. I got tired of the upkeep and grew out the dye. I'm not sure if the very ends of my hair still have colour on them or not but those days are (sometimes sadly) behind me.

dvep Thank you! I know I've done the same for other people. Almost everything I own are "pre-loved" hair toys from the swap board. I'm about to graduate university so finding something I *love* at a good price was always important to me. Although I have gone through some buying sprees, I have not been buying much the last few months. In the next year or so I do need to make a post selling or trading away some things that I grew out of.

Nymphe Thank you! I do have more pictures if you guys really want more spaming. :eyebrows:

Llama Thank you! It was either a disc bun with 2 strands or with 3. It was a trick I learned on here from Crystwani if I am remembering correctly.

I'm right handed and I use my left hand to hold the "pony" at the base of the bun. So that means I use my right hand to wrap my hair around my left hand. So I'm going to try to make this make sense.

A disc bun is just like a LWB where instead of all the hair is wrapped in one direction all together. I always wrap my LWB counter clockwise; so I wrap around around my fingers then my thumb (with the original "pony" trapped in the middle).

A Disc bun you only take half your hair, wrap like a LWB till you hair no more hair in that section (say counter clockwise around your hand). Then take the other half of your hair and wrap it in the other direction, so around your thumb first then over your fingers and keep wrapping till you have no more hair. (so clockwise).

You can section the hair into as many sections as you want and alternate wrapping the strands clockwise and counter clockwise as much as you want, it can give you a more stable while "looser" bun depending on how you wrap. Just be warned that the more strands you use for the bun, the more your ends might wanna tangle. So be aware of this if you choose to try this out.

I've never had an issue with tangles though, but I don't wrap super small sections, and I might put a cony serum on my ends if they are already feeling a little grabby.

Diva Ah, How I have been in awe of your hair toy collection. Thank you for the complement. Pretty and healthy hair is the goal!

Shepherdress Thank you for the complement and for enjoying the pictures with me!

Zesty Even though your life has exploded, I hope a its full of good things! I love the tulipwood fork, I'm always on the lookout for the perfect outfit for it. Its so pretty and has such strong colours I really wanna show case it.
May you say? I should be graduating in April, so who knows, with my extra time I might be hanging out around here more. I will keep an eye out for your 6th year! Here to happy hair and growth until then. :)

TatsuOni Thank you! and woah your hair looks so shinny, long and beautiful in your signature.

Kat-Rinne Naido Thank you! It all depends on the type of bun and how I wrap my hair, I can make my hair very compact with a small bun. Wide forks do wonders in "plumping" up a bun!
