I've seen it mentioned on here a couple of times but I can't seem to find the information I'm looking for on the website (http://creativeimagesystems.com/adore/adore/).

Can it be used on darker hair colors? Or do you have to lighten it first?

Also, has anyone used it over henna/indigo-ed hair? What has been your experience?

Adore's dyes are deposit-only, semi permanent dyes. They will not lighten hair, so whatever color you use will be like an overlay on top of the color beneath it. Think of it like a marker on colored paper. So if you have dark brown hair and you use red dye, you'll have red-tinted dark brown, and pastels need a very light base, etc. Also keep in mind that sometimes semi permanent dyes do not stick as well to virgin hair vs. processed hair.

I haven't personally used Adore at this point nor have I hennaed/indigo-ed so I can't advise you there.

I've used a few shades of it, and I generally like it. Over hennaed medium-tone hair, Raging Red showed up very well and lasted for ages, but Purple Rage came out nearly black for me and then faded back to brown and then my hennaed red.

When I bleached my hair for brighter tones that wouldn't show well on medium brown, I got a great intense red. I prefer Adore to Manic Panic. The color doesn't seem to rub off dry hair so much, the stain is great, and it's both cheaper and easier to find locally for me.

Great, thank you. This answered my question perfectly.

It's good to know it can be used with henna. I was a little worried. There's so much conflicting information about using henna that I didn't realize how permanent it actually is. I only wish I had joined LHC before I started using it. I love the color results, but I was under the impression it would eventually fade away to my natural color. Which, it started to do after the first application, but it's now much darker than I originally wanted. I'm hoping I can find a semi-permanent color that matches my current color to apply from now on until it grows out.

I've only used one shade of it, and I also like it too. It's a semi-permanent hair color. The light colors will not work on dark hair. You can to lighten the hair first, and then color your hair which ever shade you want.
