Jane Seymour and Crystal Gayle have beautiful hair for sure. Lynda Carter always had such gorgeous hair too, I loved her in Wonder Woman.

This actor, Keith Longhorn, has beautiful hair. This is exactly the kind of long, straight hair I wanted when I was growing up. My first boyfriend had hair like this, it always smelled like Pert shampoo:

Yes, I totally agree with you on that note about Lynda Carter having gorgeous long hair as well. I also loved her in, "Wonder Woman," too!!! I think she inherited the long hair from her Mexican traits.

Wow, your boyfriend has some really gorgeous long hair!!! I love a good-looking man with long hair!!!

Just to clarify, that actor isn't my boyfriend (heehee), only that my first boyfriend's hair was like that in the early 90s. I think he cut it at some point in the early 2000s. I think my favorite hair was probably in the late 70s/ early 80s. Brooke Shields, Farrah Faucet, Jacqueline Smith. By the time I was in High School, it was the late 80s and the crazy big hair, then 90s had those grunge looks, then the early 2000s had a lot of the shorter, flippy styles, so I don't recall whose hair I admired during those times? These days you see more of the nice longer, hair, though. My favorite :)

That is also my favorite too :) But I was hoping that someday soon my favorite actress Jane Seymour decides to let her hair grow all the way back down to her hips again. Like it was on Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. But lately it looks like she is letting it grow back down there again...I hope!

Remember those years when a lot of those celebrities did the shorter cuts? Like when Keri Russell chopped her hair, and the "Felicity" ratings dropped? I don't think too many people had the will to resist that 80s hair, either. Crystal Gayle is probably one of the few who kept her hair the same. Pretty amazing considering what the rest of us were doing at that time!

Sticking with people connected to Nightwish, Marco Hietala.
Ok, he's blond and I'm dark, and he's a bloke and I'm a girl, and he has an awesome viking beard, and I... am doomed never to have an awesome viking beard (see point 2). But he's the first celebrity I've looked at and thought "I want your hair" - it's just so long and swishy.

Also Evelyn Glennie and Mary Beard. Glennie because she has been making long grey hair look utterly gorgeous, and Beard because whilst her hair is indeed a bit scruffy sometimes, I love her attitude in the face of media and social media know-it-alls having a singularly bad mannered fit of "older woman on tv with natural hair" vapours. One of the main reasons I started growing mine was as a solidarity "stuff you" to all the people who think they have a right to dictate what older / greying people should do with their own appearance.

Yes I do remember. Yeah, I can see why the ratings dropped during those years. Because of the short cuts. Yes, I am really amazed at how Crystal Gayle has kept her long hair the same after all of these years. She has never cut it. I mean, from an interview on youtube.com she said that from time to time she trims her hair up from the floor so that it wouldn't be dragging the floor (heehee).

^ She did an amazing job keep her hair like that! I recall as a teenager also really liking Paulina Porizkova's hair:

I remember a few years back feeling very upset when she cut it off. Not sure why, it's her hair, but for some reason I found it upsetting and was happy to see she grew it out again.

I also like the kind of hair that Denise Miller and Olivia Barash had in the late 70s/ early 80s. They had that lovely, bouncy, shiny brown hair like Brooke Shields had. They were teenagers when I was a kid, and I remember liking the shows they were on and admiring their nice hair. You just know they were using Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific or Faberge Organics Wheat Germ Oil & Honey or something like that :)

Yes! Her hair in The Kids Are Alright was really lovely.

I've always thought Tara Fitzgerald had gorgeous hair (most notably as Topaz in I Capture the Castle), and I love Catherine Tate's hair. Also, Carol Kane (both back in the day and recently in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) and Mayim Bialik. <3

It has to be Crystal Gayle and Jane Seymour. Prior to that Lily Munster, aka Yvonne de Carlo. Unfortunately she couldn't claim the long hair as her own. One can never forget the very beautiful Patricia Morison. Her hair styles were always superbly presented. I suggest you seek out Tarzan and the Huntress, plus the Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone) film, Dressed To Kill.

I don't know if it was her real hair or extensions, but in 2 movies I pretty much worshiped Daryl Hannah's long blonde hair. When I was about 11 or 12, Splash was one of my fave movies where she played a mermaid. When I was 13 my mom finally let me watch Clan Of The Cave Bear because I read the book. And there was that long wavy blonde hair again. The movie is creepy, but I loved the character Ayla lol

I think that apart from Crystal Gayle, I have never seen any celeb' with their true hair reaching more than waist length without extensions or some kind of fake enhancements. At least nowadays. Maybe in the seventies ? I think of Joan Baez, for example. She had gorgeous natural hair. But nothing even approaching Crystal Gayle's.

So yeah... Let's say Crystal Gayle ! :p I have seen some videos of her when she was young, and OMG... such a genuinely beautiful, natural and healthy looking person ! :crush:

Tough question since 1) I consider long to generally be WL and longer which tends to not be considered stylish and is therefore uncommon, and 2) I'm not hip enough on the gossip columns to know what are extensions and what are not. Celebrities can afford great extensions! That being said, the main one who comes to mind for me is Lana Del Rey early in her career when she did more retro-inspired hairstyles. I'm sure there was some artificial enhancement involved, but I adore vintage styling and it was nice to see it done on some long hair.

On that note, since my love for long hair clashes with my love for Old Hollywood, I really like Dorothy Lamour for being a toal 30s darling with long hair (even though she hacked it off immediately after this photo):

Lana Del Rey's hair is what prompted me to start getting extensions back in the day. I never really thought about long hair before I saw the music video for "Video Games" and then I just HAD to have long hair lol. The extensions ruined my hair sadly and I had to lay off my obsession with her so that I wouldn't feel so bad about removing them. But yeah it was obvious that she wore extensions anyways.
I also loved Jessa's hair on the show "Girls"...her real name is Jemima Kirke. It was super long and was her real hair. She cut it short recently though.

I don't have much envy for the longer lengths such as Chrystal Gayle. Jane Seymour has always been an inspiration. In the past my hair idols have been Peggy Lipton, Olivia Hussey, Susan St. James, Kim Basinger, and Cher, all at various times in their careers. Now there aren't many because of extensions. I still love Jane Seymour for keeping it long into her 60s. Right now I love Blake Lively and Amanda Seyfried. Blake seems to embrace LHC like hair care according to some things I've read.

Yes I agree. while I always admired Crystal Gayle's hair, and thought it was beautiful, I never aspired to it because it was not achievable for me. I think I read somewhere that her hair grows quite fast and is quite thick. The opposite of my hair.
For me I loved Jane Seymour's hair, and Madeleine Stowe. Madeleine Stow is in her late 50's and still wears her hair quite long. Also Blake Lively.

I'm always skeptical about celebrity women with their long hair because I know a great many of them use hair extensions... so I admire with caution. ;) But my favourite celebrity with hair that I know is real would have to be Jason Momoa. :inlove: :blushing:

Further to my vote for Willie Nelson - the man is truly amazing!

He is 84 this year and is about to release a new album. A video has been posted on youtube of one of the tracks. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EmVfVuan3c His voice is a little tremulous at times, but the song, called A Woman's Love, is very touching and his rendition is moving. Look at the video, and you will see his loose hair flowing down his back, all the way down to the belt on his jeans! Truly an inspiration to those of us who are no longer as young as we were, but still yearn for long hair and the courage to defy societal norms!

Oh boy I can relate to all of that and then some.

I've never watched Star Trek before, until recently. As a wavy/wurly person I absolutely adore seeing Deanna Troi's hair as here (https://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--oT3R4zKR--/c_scale,fl_progressive,q_80,w_800/18avxsj56y788jpg.jpg) and here (https://img.buzzfeed.com/buzzfeed-static/static/2014-06/30/16/enhanced/webdr02/grid-cell-18266-1404159634-32.jpg).

Here hair is curlier than mine but it seems like they frequently brush or comb her hair out, which is somewhat disappointing. But in most episodes her hair still looks amazing and her volume and thickness is absolutely incredible

Oh my goodness I remember I used to watch star trek the next generation as a kid everyday after the simpsons on fox LOL those was the days.

I'm another for Crystal Gayle. I don't really know any other long hair celebs (so now I'll be Googling everyone mentioned here!). I saw Crystal Gayle on TV at my granny's house when I was probably about five years old and I was entranced by her hair. It was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen. I wanted hair like that.

She cut it short? I think she may have been one of my first inspirations back in the day. Well, the reds and the Hollywood waves were so pretty! It seems, though, that every hair color looked good on her!
I cannot find it, so I'll just delude myself a little and may cry a little in the corner.

90s Alanis Morissette

Definitely! I have some back issues of Seventeen magazine from 1997, and it's total hair inspiration! The interviewer actually mentions when she's sitting down, her hair is resting on her feet.

I have to say Portia De Rossi in the 1990's. Those scenes in Ally McBeal when she'd take her hair down, they almost made up for how sexist the whole show was. Ha! I remember she used to do those Vive commercials too. Also for a totally different reason, Emmylou Harris. That silver color is to die for (not to dye for!). For the guys, my heart goes out to indie darlings Caleb Landry Jones and Rory Culkin. <3

I'm a big fan of Kristin Kreuk's hair in Smallville. I did find it funny that in my head she had Hip or TBL hair, yet when I went back to search for pictures and screen caps, it was much shorter than that. Somehow it became more epic in my memory! Anyway, I liked the volume and how healthy and looked.

Lana Lang 1 (http://i.pinimg.com/736x/db/8e/94/db8e940cfee1b56936712f7aa7e60b8d--lana-lang-kristin-kreuk.jpg)

I wish they let her wear updos more often. (http://homeofthenutty.com/smallville/screencaps/albums/SV5x03/503Smallville0583.jpg) Not the best picture, but I like that she usually had a hair toy to go with her updo.

Oh yeah, when Jane Seymour first started her acting career as, "The Bond Girl," her tresses were as long as hip length! And, at the time she was 21 years old I think. Also, when she started on Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman her lovely tresses were down to her hips as well. I remember some years back on a, "Talk Show," she told this talk show host as she asked her, "Can your hair grow as long as Crystal Gayle's?" And she said, "No, but the longest it can grow is to my knees."

Well, along the celebrity hairstylists I actually know names of, and would probably rather stick to, would be Beth Wilson, which is Amy Lee's (from Evanescence) stylist. I guess she's doing something well, as Amy has had really long hair throughout her career (mostly ranging from tailbone to waist), and while she has used hair pieces in videos, it's usually her own hair on a regular basis.
It has to be dyed (her natural colour is brown), she has bleached it (went from black to red at one point), constantly straightens it (her natural hair is very wavy, about 2b/2c), backcombs it for shows, and is constantly experimenting with new styles. Not to mention the horrible tangles she probably gets after concerts.
So, if in over a decade of concerts, headbanging, and so much styling it's still attached to her head and long, she's probably one of the few good ones :p

Well, not so long ago, she cut it to chin length... so that might have helped. Specially the straightening... damn I don't know how any long hair would endure that much heat on a daily basis and start to not look fried even with a kg of silicones. Of course being dyed jet black helped on concealing splits a bit. At least I think lighter shades tend to show the damage much easier. So yeah I think that might have helped in making such a drastic decision.. She went from what, tailbone to chin? Especially because she is letting it grow again. But surely she has great hair.

And his voice!!!

Hey everyone,
Did you know that many years ago Jane Seymour appeared on a "Talk Show," hosted by a lady, and the host asked her, "Would you let your hair grow as long as Crystal Gayle's hair?" and Jane responded, "Well, it can't really grow that long but the longest it can grow is to my knees." Yes, she did have a beautiful head of thick curly or wavy hair! Her hair texture reminds me of mine. I didn't know that she died at a young age.

I think you, her and I can be hair triplets. 😋 She died in the 90's I believe from a seizure. Leaving a young daughter and husband.

Yeah, I think me, her, and you are hair triplets too.:o Oh, ok. I didn't know that she had died that young of a seizure. That is so sad leaving a daughter and a husband behind. I had a friend that also died a epileptic disorder too! She died in 2012.

Do models count? My favorite has always been Valeria Sokolova. She was my original inspiration to grow out my hair in my teens! I didn't think dirty blonde could look beautiful in its natural state, but it can!

Not long haired forthe LHC forum standars, but her hair is so silky and lovely that I had to share: Jordana Brewster, I discovered her while watching Lethal Weapon (the show, not the films) with my bf. Her hair is mid-back/waist, and looks pretty healthy and shiny all the time <3

Also I love this hairstyle, I have to try it sometime soon :)

Yes, it has been said but I have to agree with you on that note too! I also love Jane Seymour in Dr. Quinn and in the Bond film too! Live and let Die. Yes, she had some gorgeous hair in that film. I'm like you, every time I see it I get really envious too. Hey, many years ago she appeared on this talk show back in the mid 1980's, and the host asked her, "What's the longest your hair can grow?" "Can it grow as long as Crystal Gayle's?" and her response was, "No, but the longest it can grow is to my knees." When I heard her say that I was in total shock!!! But ever since I saw her starring in the Somewhere In Time film I always knew that Jane could grow extremely long hair. Every time I see the Somewhere In Time film I've always felt that her long hair was gorgeous!!!!

Oh yeah, those curls are beautiful! I do love curly hair! Because, my hair is naturally curly! It's not as curly as Gio's hair but it has a loose curl to it, and also natural waves.

I never realized she had knee length hair but then, in those traditional costumes it's hard to tell where the knees are (I know, I'm making up excuses now :p). But she was (still is) a hair idol for many romanian women, I grew up dreaming to have hair like hers.
