I don't know about you guys, but there are some hair products that exists, or some things people do with their hair, that makes me go :run: I guess some we all share; harsh brushing, overdone backcombing...

Looking through youtube today I found two new things that made me go :run: I physically shuddered. This is what hair nightmares are made of!

The braid twister:

And this curling thing:
https://youtu.be/5rQz3JY2Fq8?t=3m29s
IT SUCKS THE HAIR UP WHAAAAAT

Yiiiiiiikes. Both of those scream disaster to me!

What are your hair :run: ?

That made me physically ill.

Not only did she literally butcher her hair with some fabric scissors but after all that butchering she blow fries it too. RIP hair! Yet shes too old for shoulder length hair but not too old to get drunk and give herself a funky butchering tho. She had to have been drunk for this :rollin:

Hair and the wheels on stools. Eve after getting my hair wrapped in a wheel as a client, I managed to do it to my self while prepping a room.
New rule:hair must be up up before I go to work.

You Tube videos that mangulate hair. The mangulator is usually a so called "hair expert".

Yikes so many cringe-worthy things!

The curling iron one is a classic though :D If I don't remember too wrong the girl ended up on the Ellen show because of it!

Baking Soda. Tried it once. Never ever ever no more! Was a LONG time before my hair felt "right" again. The very idea now squiks me badly.

Oh yeah, baking soda washing was the WORST thing I ever tried on my hair. It felt like straw afterwards and had horrible static for the next 2 weeks, and I had to do an overnight conditioner soak just to get some moisture back into it. Awful!

So this is a haircutting tutorial for curly hair. Is it just me or is teasiing hair with scissors not good?

You catch a glimpse of it in the beginning and then she starts explaining her two cutting techniques at 6:22.

I can't imagine that back-cutting would be good and has a lot of potential to go horribly wrong fast!

cheep bobby pins, when the rubber comes off the ends & the two prongs twist, I can hear the snapping hair sound & feel the pain as it scratches and catches all my hairs.
And when you take your glasses off and a load of hair snaps off with them that all got caught in the arm.

Any time I watch a video and see someone rip through their hair with a brush.

Personally, I don't care what tools someone uses, but I do care if they're using said tools roughly! Makes me cringe every time.

This.

Another thing I cringe at is those people who just rip their ponytail ties out of their hair instead of unraveling them carefully. You can hear the "plunk plunk... plunk..snap" of the hairs as the break.

Yea all this makes me shudder so much. I'm glad I've spent many years learning about my hair and how to take care of my scalp, etc... Chemical burns will always be a fear of mine because I remember having one, and it was beyond excruciating. As I've gotten older though, you just have to be thorough, and careful, and quick.

I hate it when people touch their hair near their scalp next to me when their hair is dirty to constantly scratch it... I find it disgusting/distasteful and I imagine their grease or dirt floating to my scalp :(
