I wanted to confirm my thoughts about using a blow dryer and brush to achieve straighter hair with less damage versus using a flat iron.
I have a CHI flat iron from my pre-LHC days and I haven't used it since joining. I've only kept it out of the thought I might want to use it once in a blue moon to achieve that lovely silky straight hair effect!
But I'd rather not tempt the damage, since there is no temperature control on it, and I'd hate to undo all my hard work these past years for one day of straightness.
I got to thinking it might be less damaging to try getting a straight-ish style by using a blow dryer and brush. I know it wouldn't be flat iron, pin-straight, but that's ok.
The thing is, I don't actually own a blow dryer. So before I get all gung-ho about the idea and invest in one, perhaps I could get the thoughts of LHCers!
Would a combination of brush and blow dryer be less damaging than a flat iron? (Mind, this wouldn't be done but a few times a year for special occasions.) Heck, having a blow dryer would be handy for other things too! :)
ETA: On the other hand, I know my hair usually frizzes out when hit with a hair dryer, so I dunno if that could be avoided...
