Okay. So I've seen a few "thoughts on XYX Hask cleansing treatment" or "Hask Deep Conditioner" threads. But I was thinking we could have a general Hask love thread.

It is because of Nadine's Deep Conditioner thread and all the love that gushed forth there that I bought two sets of S&C from Walgreens yesterday. They were 25% off. And I really loved the smell of both.

I used them and wowie, I usually only get these kinds of results from conventional S&C. But then my wash cycle starts to decrease because it's stripping to much oil out. So I'll switch back to Sulphate/Cone free S&C and my hair will be lanky and dull.

I should also meantion I was firmly in the "protein no touchy hair" group. Clearly I was wrong. Or this is magic protein.

I'm hoping these results continue. I'll do my best to post updates. In the meantime, I welcome all your Hask gushing on shampoos and conditioners, deep treatments, cleansers, oils, things I don't know about yet but will desperately need/want once you tell me about them....

I'm completely addicted to their Shine Treatments, in the little brown tubes, they're like magic for my hair. The Argan oil is my favorite. Their DC packets are great, but for my dry hair in a dry environment, I use the shine treatment daily and no oily buildup between washes. It's amazing!!

I'm in love with the packets, you cannot tear me away from them they are my HG since I discovered them over 10 years ago. They never did my hair wrong always light wurly wavy hair with them.

I found more new ones on ebay I never heard of and i'm excited to try them too.

My bfs mum got a tester in a magazine and said she loved it. So we bought her shampoo and conditioner (argan oil I think). I want to try their masks (little bag-like packages) but cant seem to find them around :(

I love love love their macadamia oil conditioner it's one of my all time favs! It leaves my hair shiny und super moisturized.
It brings great results when I combine it with almond oil and an egg as a pre-wash treatment. I love how sleek my hair becomes. :D

I am currently working my way through their argan oil S+C set, with the monoi coconut oil conditioner next in line. I love how these products smell and my hair feels really good with them. I just found their monoi coconut oil deep conditioner in a squeeze tube rather than a packet and I am all about that. I only use half a packet at a time and storing it between uses is such a hassle, tube is much more convenient for me. When I work my way through more of my oils/leave-ins I want to try one of their shine serums.

I just tried the Keritan S+C set, was going to get the Argon one, but loved the scent of the Keritan, so decided to wing it- I too was in the no protein group- but so far my hair is loving it! So soft, and I haz waves- almost curls! Very little frizz! I am hoping it stays that way! I will have to wait and see how quickly I get product build-up.

I found the macadamia oil and coconut oil "flavors" of the shine treatment today and grabbed one of each to try, since they can be harder to find at my usual grocery store. Oh my gosh, the scent of the macadamia... littlestarface I know you mentioned loving the macadamia DC packet, this smell is heavenly! And same wonderful results as the Argan or keratin, can't seem to tell a difference in efficacy, only scent. And this is lovely! I may go back and grab a couple macadamia packets too, even though I've got all of these products in other flavors, and more, already stashed.

Need to try some S&C, got big bottles of schtuff I'm working my way through already. I just love these products. :cheer:

Yes, sweet and lightly powdery. My hair drank it in today too, I love love love it. Nice counterpoint to the Rosemary oil smell I've had more of late, since including it in my oil treatments. Not a bad smell, but a little medicinal at times. This lightens any of that residual and adds nicely!

Tell us what you think, WildcatDiva ! I love these products all so much, they're perfect for my hair and the Shine Treatments (different than the DC packets) completely "saved" my hair last summer. Can't stop saying how much I love them, & I still use them almost every day (as my leave in).

I have used it before and liked it. It was really thick and one packet could do more than one treatment for my tailbone length hair. I think it will be perfect for husband and I to split.

I am thinking it is no-cone? But not 100 percent sure.

Yes, I have very thin hair so I can get at least three treatments per packet.

I can't remember if they're no cone, as I do use cones lightly but regularly, so I rarely check for those things. And I could get up and check, but it's a snow day and I'm tucked in bed very deeply with my cup of tea at this moment, I must admit.

I regularly use the argan shine serum, I love it, and in the past have used the keratin DC packets, I am currently on a different brand of protien conditioner but once that's finished I'm going back to the Hask, the little packets are annoying though, wish they would just put it in a bottle.

They do have bottles actually! They just usually do not carry them in drug stores. They do, however, usually carry them at beauty specialty stores like Ulta. I do not know if they have Ulta in Scotland, though? If not, I am sure the UK has equivalent stores. Check a beauty specialty store and see if they have them there.

I just looked on their website and think I found what you are talking about, I've never seen those anywhere here. As for beauty supply stores I'm not sure what else we have here other than drug stores and sallys, checked amazon, not on there either. Will just have to make do with the packets I suppose.

Wow, everyone's experiences with their deep conditioners seem to be good! I think I might need to try them out some time. They have the keratin and the argan oil one where I live, can you recommend one of those specifically? Are there any major differences in the way they make your hair feel or do you like them both? :D

They are amazing, but be careful. Most of their deep conditioners are protein treatments and over use can make your hair dry and brittle. I started to over use them because I adore them and noticed my hair began to get dry and brittle. I was using them once a week, which was too much for me. So I have dropped back to once a month.

I have medium textured hair leaning towards the finer end of the spectrum so regular doses protein are very good for me as long as they are balanced with the appropriate amount of moisture for my hair.

For instance, in the summer I plan to use the Hask clarifying shampoo and conditioner once a week because I cannot go more than a week without a shampoo. I need at least a weekly shampoo. That particular shampoo formula from them, however, has hydrolyzed protein in it - nowhere near the same amount as the deep condtioners. Thus, I will stop using the deep condtioner in the summer because I do not want to over do the protein. The clarifying condtioner will balance it out with shea butter.

If you have seen solidly fine hair more frequent protein treatments might be better for you. It all depends on your hair type. Me - I need a very delicate balance of protein and moisture I am finding. Good luck!

Annnddd I just found another oil in my purse. All the yes!! Hoarding, and binge buying when they go on sale, and now?

Now I'm also a dealer. I've been handing out samples to fellow long haired friends and often my bellydance sisters.

(I also gave out home made oil blends in the scent they requested, I want to convert the world into oiling their hair!)

But Hask. Yes. Crack. Turning on the masses to the Hask message!

I just happened upon these in the store the other day and wouldn't have given them a second glance if it weren't for lhc! They had a shampoo, conditioner, the keratin deep treatment packets, and keratin smoothing shine oil. I picked up the deep treatment and shine oil. I LOVE them. I'm hooked. My hair feels amazing! The only down side is that now it's so slippy that my spin pins and claw clips don't hold my hair anymore. They just fall out. Now I have to figure out how to work with it to make them stay. I may need more length which means pony tails.

My hair is MBL, so luckily the slip isn't a huge issue for me. I bun it up and forget about it. But I agree, the oil is fabulous, and I'm totally hooked on their Charcoal Shampoo & Condish, as well as their Argan Oil ones!

And my friend was amazed! I asked her to try it, and she agreed and LOVED it. I had to send her with the whole rest of the bottle of the Macadamia shine treatment. I have more after all!

NimbleNut, I have the same issue! My hair is already very thin, very fine, very straight and so very slicky. With Hask? I can barely keep my hair in a bun or wrap without great amounts of Bobby pins. So much slip, but not complaining! (Much.)

I have been Absolutely loving the keratin S+C, but my condish was almost gone and so I picked up the Argon oil conditioner when I found it on sale. I have to say I am not as happy with the argon one, it makes my hair feel lightly coated, although gives a lot more volume. Hair still feels very moisturized, but doesn't have the silkiness of the Keratin one. Plus I not sure I like the citrus scent of the argon one.

As for cones- BOTH the Keratin and Argon conditioners have Dimethicone in the listed ingredients on the bottle....

Don't get me wrong, I love my Carol's Daughter conditioner, but for some reason it's started drying out my hair insanely. Though it says it's a repairing conditioner, the only protein ingredient I could find was hydrolyzed silk, and it was more in the middle of the ingredients than towards the beginning. I also used it to cowash my hair yesterday and it lathered up? No wonder my hair has been feeling dried out.

This thread is making me want to try a Hask conditioner. Not only are the reviews good, they're also within my budget right now.

I'm leaning towards the Macadamia Oil one as it's the one geared towards moisturizing. I hope it helps because my hair feels awful :(

ETA: I just saw the conditioner has silicones and proteins in it. Bummer :(

Rinsing it out... this feels really different. I think my hair OD'd. Feels... full of moisture more than it should???
Good thing?

I recently bought the argan oil deep conditioner and tried it. I have to admit that I am sort of disappointed. It made my hair very easy to comb, however it didn't really do anything besides that. Made my hair feel like any other conditioner and considering that I used the whole sachet at once I think it is overpriced. Using only half of it at a time is inconvenient too as I don't want to use protein heavy products more often than once a month. I might pick up the keratin one some time to see if that one works better for me.

It definitely feels soft, but I noticed its marketed to curly girls, so it might make an even more beneficial effect with another hair type than mine.

So far I like the macadamia DC best, mostly for scent, and the rest are all kind of similar for my hair, which is great. :) I like the coconut oil DC least, but the coconut milk & honey, has a better scent. Not as strong.

BUMP. I am still in love with their Chia Seed volume shampoo. I had to switch back to using it twice a week, though. I apparently cannot just shampoo my scalp once a week. After a few weeks of shampooing just once a week I start to get dandruff. Ughhh. NOPE.

Are you talking about this one? http://haskbeauty.com/products/keratin/8

My hair has hated protein in the past too but I'm thinking maybe I need some and would like to try. Your testimonial is encouraging!

Washed twice all the way down my length to 'clarify'...my hair smells SO GOOD. I have the keratin conditioner too but the smell doesn't stick around like the shampoo.

So I have been using this brand for a month now. I REALLY REALLY like the way my hair feels right out of the shower, but by day 2-3 my ends are dry.
I was a little worried about the cones (some of these do contain cones.. im pretty sure.) and the protein. I mean my hair tangles anyway.
So far, its cheap and its cruelty free so. I am happy.

So its been awhile. I really dont like the shampoo and conditioner, but I love the leave in oils.
If anyone wants a bottle of conditioner and a half bottle of shampoo let me know, i wont be using either of them.
I want to give the deep conditioning packets a try next though, as long as they are cone free... going to be looking at the ingredients.

Found the thread! I just bought 3 Hask deep conditioning packets! I'm using the Keratin one now; it smells really nice! I'm so glad to know that people here approve of it, makes me hopeful because it smells so good I was hoping it wouldn't be bad for my hair growth :) I hope it makes my hair as nice as it says it made yours!

Yes. I posted my comment quite a bit ago. Did my research.

How are you all using the DC? The pack says to leave it on for ten minutes and the keratin one made my hair very soft and frizz free. Should I leave it longer?

I would go with the instructions and not keep it in longer.

Their Unwined deep conditioners smell amazing.
And left my hair soft and moisturised.. if I recall correctly I used Pinot Grigio.
But, that smell....

I do! I leave mine on overnight or longer, especially if used in a SMT.

I swear HASK had not been on my radar for a super long time until I saw that they had dropped a lot of new shampoos, conditioners, etc. So, I recently gave in to my urge to try their new Orchid & White Truffle Moisture Rich Conditioner and I am absolutely in love with it. I swear, for me and my hair, the best cnditioners are the ones that have cones in them. The slip on this new conditioner is incredible, plus it smells very nice, and it leaves my hair well moisturizer too. It can be used on any hair type. Plus, it is also safe for color-treated hair too.

Overall, I am definitely Italy blown away with all the goodies that they have been releasing, and I totally can't wait to try more goodies from them real soon! This line has really been by more surprise than I ever though. And, the prices for their products are beyond affordable, which even though they may be cheap, in my opinion, the line is definitely of salon quality to me for sure.

I feel about Hask like I do about about OGX, in that they have such nice smelling things, but the few things I’ve tried have been so-so on my hair (except the Hask Charcoal Dry Shampoo- that’s very nice). However I just saw this Rose Oil and Peach line at Walgreens. They smelled so nice and peachy! I didn’t get anything, but maybe some day:

Anyone use any of the Hask leave ins? If so, you like?

I've been wanting to use a serum of some sort but holy damn, I can not pick one...
So then I saw that Hask has a leave in and figured maybe I'd just try that.

I actually found the line in my local Kruidvat in Belgium. I got 3 conditioners. They had 3 shampoos & 3 conditioners, so not the entire line, but at least there was something. I did not get the shampoos because I can't do sulfate-free. The deep conditioning packets and oil vials were also there, but that's it.

Yes, Dee, get it, and let us know how you get on!

I decided to get Sweet Almond oil. I feel like my hair could use a little something after the shower and thought serum would be great or a leave in but then I kept seeing different opinions and it was becoming overwhelming because I couldn't figure out what one would be best and I didn't want to spend so much money on trying different kinds, so then Sweet almond oil came up some where and I'm going to try that for a few weeks and see how it goes. So far so good, but, we will see.

I'm currently using the HASK Tea Tree Oil and Rosemary shampoo and conditioner set and they're okay. I picked them up because my scalp can get a little irritated from time to time and I wanted to try a tea tree shampoo as well as a sulfate free shampoo. It doesn't explicitly state that they are for oily hair but I just kind of assumed that and I was wrong! My hair gets super greasy after just a day with these. But the scent is gorgeous and my hair gets very soft.

I am oily to normal, more normal than anything in later years, but I can still not do sulfate free. Oil & sulfate free don't mix.

I suppose my hair is the same. But I think I‘ll be fine when I alternate this with my sulfate shampoos. The conditioner is really nice though, I used it this morning and my hair is so soft and nourished. I‘ve always hated how most moisturizing or nourishing products have these sickly sweet scents.

Yeah, I loooove their conditioners. And used the oil containers in the past, a lot. This was way before I even cared about long hair.

My mom has the thickening one and whenever she uses that one, now mind you she has fine hair, a little finer than my (non gray) hair, her wispies in front are slim to non-existent, it's like they "stick" to the rest of the hair better... somehow. I don't know *how* it does it, but it does it!

Yeah, nothing but praise for their conditioners, the keratin one = nice too. My mom likes it.

These small vials of serum are good. I have the one with the blue cap. Not oily, basically a finishing serum (how I use it):

Yes, those were them! :D Are them. They are still around.

HASK disappeared for a long time in my country, no longer on the shelves since the 80s and now all of a sudden it's back!

From what I recall, Hask didn’t have a lot of products in the US either, until relatively recently. I do remember using these Henna & Placenta conditioner packets when I was in High School (late 80s). I don’t think I used anything from them at all in the 90s-00s, so I can’t remember what was in the product line back then:

I spontaneously picked that up today! I have been meaning to get a coney leave-in for my face framing bits for a while, those need some protection from mechanical damage. Smells lovely! But I wish they had given it a pump, dosing it is kind of awkward.

I also couldn’t help myself and picked up a little sachet of the argan oil deep conditioner.

That little cap is terrible. A while back I had this in my purse for when my hair gets a little poofy, and the lid popped off and it spilled :(. My hair is fine and not that long so the vial lasts me a while, though. I wonder if the other ones are as lightweight.

I used the oil in my wet hair after washing for the first time yesterday and I‘m seriously impressed with the results! Everything is much smoother and my ends don’t feel as rough and knotty as they did before anymore. But my hair did get greasy again much faster than usual, so I probably used too much. Really loving how smooth my hair feels though. :)

^Nice! Glad it works for you.

I ended up getting the keratin one too. For some reason a lot of the companies who used to make finishing serums don’t anymore (Herbal Essences, Pantene, Aveda), and are now making either oil products or some other styling/ finishing products that are too heavy for me. The keratin one is nice too. Smells like peach, and smooths out my hair without weighing it down. I only use a little on dry hair, haven’t tried it on wet.
