My little girl has crazy tangles. Super fine curly hair. I've tried everything organic or natural it seems, but I end up just breaking her hair as we comb thru it. My scalp is very sensitive to fragrances, so I try not to use products that have them in it on hers. I don't want her to develop itching and stuff like me.

I know I probably need something with cones. I've thought about making my own, but I wouldn't know where to start.

Help is appreciated! I'm hoping someone knows of a conventional product with no artificial fragrance. Thanks!

My favorite non-cone slip ingredient is behetrimonium methylsulfate (aka behentrimonium methosulfonate). It's a quaternary ammonium surfactant, which makes it pretty good as a cleanser as well as a conditioner.

Randomly, I noticed that it's the cleansing ingredient in my Cerave cream face wash. I haven't tried it on my hair yet (it's kinda expensive) but my gut says that the stuff would make decent conditioner, and it's meant for super-sensitive skin. (I started using it when I was about at my wit's end with facial eczema this last year.) I could give it a shot and see if it's actually any good on my hair, but it or a knockoff might be worth considering.

I would try finger detangling on dampened hair with a leave-in. But when it comes to odorless leave-ins, I don't have any suggestions. Many curlies, such as myself, love DevaCurl products and the Curly Girl method.

This place does bulk/refillable body care stuff and the scents are customizable, so you can choose unscented: https://therefillshoppe.com/ingredients

ETA: The argan oil hair serum has cones, the conditioner does not.

Torrin Paige (YouTube channel link (https://www.youtube.com/user/torrinpaige)) has been helping the owner of https://snowwatersoap.com/ to formulate shampoos and conditioners. As far as I know he only uses EOs for scent (and more often, for their helpful properties as well) but I'm sure you could email him about anything, small businesses are usually great about answering questions like that. They're even collaborating on a conditioner with a 'cone in it though I can't remember which video she talks about it in and I'm too tired to go hunting it down this late at night.:sleep:

Oh Tiny Twirls! It's the same as the Kinky Curly Knot Today that everyone RAVES about, just as good as a leave-in, but designed for children so they have left the perfume out (I can't use the ordinary Knot Today because it smells SO strong). Xxx
