Hello lhc members

I am a new member with a few questions. I'm 26 years old.
I always had fine, straight hair. In 2013 i switched to an sulfate-free shampoo Giovanni Smooth As Silk, Deep Moisture.
It worked perfectly my hair was really soft.
But recently for a year or two my once straight hair became wavy and sometimes i have small curls.
My hair is also more fine, lifeless and unmanageable.
I have since tried different sulfate and cone free shampoos and sometimes conditioners but in vain.

I have also done an hairanalysis and found out that I have an excess of sebum production on my scalp.
and also alot of dandruff on my scalp, but i can't see it.

Now in the last weeks i wash two times a week. I use the following shampoo on my scalp:

and i use this conditioner on the ends of my hair:

and this is my hair two days after using this shampoo and conditioner:

http://thumbnails116.imagebam.com/50187/75ea30501861246.jpg (http://www.imagebam.com/image/75ea30501861246)
My hair is dry it feels at the top like straw.

How bad is it? Which hair type do i have?
Which products do i need to use for the oily scalp and help my get rid of my wavy, curly, lifeless, unmanageable thing hair.

Thank you in advance and sorry for my english.

Have you clarify washed recently. For this you need to wash with a sulfate shampoo, to get all the build-up out and things that sulfate-free shampoos will not remove easily. If one time doesn't completely solve the issue, then do it again your next wash.

Dandruff can also be SD (seborrheic dermatitis), or eczema or psoriasis. You basically need a doctor to take a look at your scalp.
But I'd try clarify-washing first. ;)

I second clarifying. Since you've only been using sulfate free shampoo for so long, it's clear that one way or another you have some form of buildup which is notorious for causing the limp, lifeless hair you're describing. Clarifying may also help with your scalp buildup. I can't use sulfate free shampoo because my scalp builds up so much sebum (I don't have seborrheic dermatitis, just an oily scalp) and yucky white gunk. Only sulfates can keep it at bay.
I hope clarifying works for you, and definitely go get that scalp of yours looked at for the dandruff issue if clarifying doesn't start clearing you up.

Thanks for the replies.
If the clarifying works, do i need to use the sulfate free shampoo for a long time?
or can i then go back to using a sulfate free shampoo?
And what about conditioner. Do you advice using conditioner for my hair? As you can see on the image i'm using a moisture conditioner
on the ends of my hair. But after using it its super dry. If yes, what kind of conditioner do you advice?

I notice the shampoo has protein and the conditioner coconut oil. Both of these can cause dry limp hair in some people. I can't use protein or coconut in my hair, it turns into a dry frizzy mess.
It common for peoples hair to change texture as they age. As a child/teen I had wavy hairs now as a adult, I have curly hair. Just something I had to learn to deal with.
find a nice protein free clarifying shampoo and a protein/coconut free moisturizing conditioner. Herbal essence hello hydration is a very popular conditioner on the forum/

Clarifying normally only needs to happen once every so often. Then you can indeed go back to sulfate-free. Is there a reason you are sulfate-free? Some people can't go sulfate-free or can't CO-wash because the scalp is too oily. Some can, but it's different for everyone. The sulfate-free shampoo might not be agreeing with you if you're having so much trouble.

The HE Hello Hydration conditioner has a little bit of protein in it, Obsidian.

Yes, you can use the conditioner. And Obsidian is right, texture can and does change over time. My hair has gotten curlier as an adult, it was almost a 1b straight when I was little. And watch out for too much protein too, it can cause limp or even crunchy hair with too much. The small bit of protein in that product shouldn't cause too much of an issue, though.

Keep the conditioner away from your scalp, clarify, and the return to your sulfate free shampoo. If returning to the sulfate free shampoo causes problems again soon, that means your scalp may just require the sulfates, and you'll need to look into a sulfate containing shampoo that works for you.

The shampoo may just say 'deep clean', 'purifying' or 'cleansing' shampoo. While I can't recommend a brand you want one with sulfates and generally the fewer ingredients the better for clarifying washes. Most shampoos should be protein free if labelled as clarifying but keep an eye out for 'keratin', 'amino acids' etc that can be 'hidden' types of protein.

also seconding Chromis: what do you mean about dandruff that you can't see? Do you not notice any flakiness on your scalp or hair? Was this from the hair analysis?

The Pantene Aqua Light or the Pantene volumizing shampoo (they are both + sulfates but - silicones, and that's what you need for a clarifying shampoo). Also the Expert shampoo (anti-dandruff) from Aldi, the "classic" version (not the one (citrus) for oily hair!) is *great* as well.

It's the one on the far right:
