Hi all. I found a black soap shampoo a while back, all natural, no chemicals. Works really well, but was wondering if shampoo made out of black soap is ok to use on a regular basis long term?

Would appreciate any thoughts.

Thanks in advance.

I'm curious what the ingredients are :o But, why not? If it works well, why not keeping using it?

I think it depends on what ingredients are in the black soap shampoo. I've heard some say it was perfect for their sensitive skin others found it too drying though it's usually sulphate free. There's also DIY recipes to make your own black soap shampoo around online. They melt or grate or crumble the soap then add some oils and other liquids to it.

Thanks for the replies. :)

Def not drying here, and I don't have sensitive skin/scalp. No adverse affects whatsoever. Just wondering if there might be any long term affects on the hair follicles, is all.

Here are the ingredients:

Genuine African black soap
Manuka honey
Peppermint
Hemp Seed
Water

Thanks again!

African black soap is good stuff. If the shampoo containing all those wonderful natural ingredients is working well for you, keep using it. I don't see how it could possibly harm your scalp or hair.

I used to use African black soap on my face and it was amazing. I need to go buy some more lol

African Black soap is really nice but (for me) it always dried my skin out. But that's me; it works great for other people. I wouldn't use a black soap shampoo because my hair must never be dried out.

I just used Alaffia's African black soap on my hair last night. It worked well and made my hair soft. It also did not dry it out.
