Hey guys, I'm back after a few months on break to ask you all for suggestions as to hair styles I could wear to a black-tie wedding I'll be attending soon. For reference my hair is past APL but not /quite/ BSL.

Nice to see you all again, and thanks in advance! ;)

Can you do a french twist? Your hair should be long enough for it, and it would be elegant.

If french twists aren't your jam, a gibson tuck always looks classy. If you twist the front sections down into it as shown in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmZR-PlJ_AU) it looks especially elegant. You should definitely still be able to manage that one at your length, too.

I like the sock bun look if you're wearing cocktail or black tie attire! That's what I recently did. Maybe with some loose curls at the temples? So pretty!

I like this one a lot too -

I've used all of these for formal occasions. Some of them are heavier than others. Some require significant length. You can cheat with a color coordinated paranda on the braided ones. I can't do a French roll anymore as my hair is too long for it these days. The French roll stopped being feasible for me after about hip length.

Double braided bun with jeweled comb, jeweled pins, and some plain u pins.

French roll with jeweled comb, one big jeweled U pin, and little jeweled clips.

French braid with a paranda to coordinate with your gown. Pinned up in a bun with lots of u pins and jeweled u pins large and small.

Lilith moon on YouTube has tons of formal hairstyle ideas for your length hair. I am also seconding a Gibson tuck, French twist or sock bun.
