Before the month is over, I should acknowledge that I've been a member of LHC for 10 years, even though I wasn't active for most of it. All links are pictures that include hair (in one way or another). Ten years ago I was...

Planning my upcoming wedding (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/wedding%20photos/1.jpg)
Working at a gym (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/hair/Picture010.jpg)
Experimenting with henna (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/hair/RedHair001.jpg)
Living in Arlington (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/hair/022607_12021.jpg)
Failing at hair typing. Was this 1c (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/hair/straight0802.jpg) or 3a (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/hair/curly0802.jpg)?
Trying to take a picture of the back of my head (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/hair/RedHair003.jpg)
Perfecting (ha!) the length shot (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/hair/Picture008.jpg)
Trying heatless curls (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/hair/pincurls005.jpg)

This (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/hair/041207_11432.jpg)is my last length shot before abandoning LHC. That pink Razr sure had a terrible camera!

In the following years I...
Chopped to above shoulder length (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/hair/bdayhair1.jpg) using a 1940s cutting guide in 2007
Was unimpressed (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/2008-03-15-45680.jpg) with my bangs
Had some unfortunate colors (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/WDW/DSCF0562.jpg)
Did some 40's-inspired stuff (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/hair/rolls008.jpg)
And some 50's-inspired stuff (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/NEM048.jpg)
Grew back to APL or so (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/C642EA7A-9F1A-47A7-9F6E-C4D047500061-7647-000006F6B2CCDF87_zps3fda1070.jpg)
Chopped again (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/82E986AF-AC68-47DE-A497-EDCC9636D055-1505-000002224E930101_zps7568b6c1.jpg) in early 2013
Immediately started growing it out again (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/null_zpsc85d7ee5.jpg)
Briefly went blonde (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/10428693_10153229931000859_96818059987435908_n_zps yqvegvbe.jpg) while clearing out a storage unit
Moved West (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/hair/11150567_10153246678115859_4845749655808851182_n_z psuisspvly.jpg) (this was day 2 of driving my wife's golf-cart of a car with load #1)
Came back to LHC September 2015 (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/hair/CAB8ADE5-FA31-45BF-92C5-0A76EFB29166_zpsddnlow31.jpg), so I really haven't been here all that long!
Took dozens of photos in this exact position (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/hair/BB671265-E985-49CF-9B4C-79754D3F818F_zpsrlxkgp5u.jpg)
Last week I had some pastel ends (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/hair/4EC069C1-E560-4C54-8735-FDAAD667FE10_zpsixzfulab.jpg)

Bonus pre-LHC hair photo (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/geobabe/redhairsun.jpg)

I'm looking forward to actually sticking around this time and making some progress with both the length and health of my hair. I love being a part of such a supportive, informative, and caring community!

You definitely had a big journey in those 10 years. :)

I experimented with my hair in my 20s, so got it all out of my system then, or so I thought. When I first got here, I experimented too, color, products, the lot. Then in my late 30s I learned to accept my waves and natural hair and grew to classic.

It's all where you're at with your life, IMMHO.

Impressive! :D :flower:

Ha! Yes, I've been all over the place. I try not to stress about it. After all, it is just hair :D I thought I got all my experimentation out of my system, but that's clearly not the case as I sit here with newly-bright ends. My current experiment is just leaving my roots alone, though - no color there for 3 or 4" at least (it blends, so I'm not sure).

Wow what a journey! Thank you so much for sharing!

I can relate on the absenteeism I swear probably 50% of the time I've been a member I've just had too much on or didn't care about my hair enough to post here

And there is no shame in experimenting with hair lengths and colours! You only have one life, do what you want to to avoid regrets :o I think, like you, many people in this community got a ton of hair-xperimenting done before they made the decision to grow long.

Anyways such a cool story! Happy growing :)

Happy anniversary and that was a fun story! I like the idea of playing with colors and cuts too though I have not had as much opportunity. So it is fun to see others.
