Those are such neat designs, but I shudder to think of the condition nightmare he makes of the models' hair!!

The article says it's painted on a weft, so I think the actual design is on a hairpiece which is then incorporated into the model's hair.

It's definitely not something I would consider doing, but it sure is neat to look at!
