I am a curly hair girl (3B-C) trying to grow to terminal and hoping it is at least knee length! My hair is currently past waist when stretched but still shrinks up to above BSL when curly. Wondering if there are any Curlies with 3B or C hair that are classic length and beyond, and if you can share pics/tips/regimens and how long you've been growing! Need some inspiration, thanks!!

Hi! Welcome to the Long hair community! :flower: I think that you will find lots of great advice and information here for long hair! :) I think you might find some great information or advice for curly hair in these threads: Wurly and Curly thread
(http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=369), The official type 3 hair club (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=96338). I'm not sure if there are many long 3b or 3c curly pictures in these threads or not, though I find the threads very inspiring to look through: The Classic to Knee Thread (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=34987), and The Knee Length and Beyond Thread (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=54031).

I mostly have 3a curls, though I do have some 3b curls in my shorter length hair where I grew my bangs out some years ago (so not exactly sure what my whole hair texture would be). I am currently at mid-thigh length at the ends when stretched, classic when curled. I was almost at knee length a few years ago, but ended up trimming back to just about classic length due to a major shed I had at the time, and grew out from there to where I am at now. I think what helped me grow it out the most was keeping it up in protective braids and buns on a daily basis and making sure to keep it moisturized. My hair has tendencies to become very porous when I do not moisturize it enough.

I wash my hair once or twice a week, though I have not been completely consistent over the years with any certain products in my routine, but I think I have been doing the LOC method (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=118167) for some time now, with using a leave-in/conditioner on my hair, then an oil (olive oil, or jojoba oil), and a cream or gel (over the years I have just usually used aloe vera gel). I have used shampoo bars for a while for my scalp and seem to do well with that. I currently am trying out the WCC method (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=119314), since I have been having trouble keeping the frizz down with my hair, and it seems to be doing alright with my hair so far and seems to be smoothing down my hair shaft, though I haven't always used so much conditioner in the past, but I think that curly hair may need to be conditioned more than other hair types. I also only use a wide tooth seamless comb for detangling my hair now. I think that I have been trying to grow out my hair and get it longer and healthier for almost 5 years now, though I haven't always taken very good care of it within that timeframe.

I think everyone's hair can be different though, so some things that work for me might not work out for others, so it can be a learning process to figure out what works and what doesn't. :)

Shepherdess has explained all that needed explaining. I find it a little odd that you're new here and asking for pictures, but maybe that's just me. ;)

Welcome, BTW. :)

Thanks for the welcome lapushka. I only ask for pictures because I've never seen anyone with my hair type that has knee length hair and only wondering if it's even possible and what it would look like because of the extreme shrinkage. I get impatient and frustrated waiting it out and I think actually seeing someone else with similar hair that has reached great lengths would help me!

Lol, outside of the forum everyone including LHC is tagging pics like <redacted> #goalz #menextyear #omgcantwaituntilmyhairisthislong and y'all know it. but when it comes to the forum everyone is so much more sensitive and protrctive about their pictures and who might see them ot use them blah blah. While it's easy for most people to find them by simple google search terms. What people choose to lut inline is online and there's no need to feel bad about anything you've been asking. The most gorgeous curls was a member with "warrior" in her name but i can't remember it fully. Blonette and definitely mid thigh at least. She used to post her hairjourney here using imgur albums.
Maybe someone else knows who i'm talking about.

Found her, it's not as ling as i thought it was but then again the pics are not old so it may as well be almost knee now. Her isername is Medusawarior and she's on naturally curly too. If you look for her posts you might snatch up some useful tips for curly hair. Pretty sure she knows what shes doing.

So I guess here goes my first post for LHC

Here's my hair after a year of the CG method

Off the top of my head, Quixii and Wonderlywroughte are/were knee-length curly, maybe a bit beyond. It can definitely be done. It does seem like the upper curls tend to get stretched out from the weight, while the lower portions are curly.

Yes her hair is amazing, if my natural texture did that, i'd probably be alright with it.
Lol i wrote ling instead of long again. Excuse my typos, which unintentionally seem to happen with the same words over and over again since i only use my phone to post these days.
Anyways, there's a ton of gorgeous wurls hair at long legths out there, so noboddy should feel discouraged just because of texture. It will grow either way.

Here's my new length pic as of today.

Sometimes it's curlier, sometimes it's less curly. As is the case with all lengths of curly hair, it varies a lot. Especially being longer, sometimes it seems to feel more weighed down and stretched out, but sometimes not.

I'm right there with you. Curly hair and always trying to find women with a similar texture w/ extreme length. I don't think this post is odd at all.. In fact, I'm glad you posted it because I would love to see some extremely long curlies. I think I've seen one woman on here with similar hair (at about her thighs), but I can't remember her username. It does seem rare. Perhaps it's how much care curls require? I can imagine most people not being able to tolerate it.

I think its rare (outside of LHC) to have knee length anyway and of course anybody who is curly and kneelength has to have a hair a great deal longer than knee length because of shrinkage.
A tightly curly at knee length might actually be floor length (not actually joking).
I love to see pictures of long curlies also. I love to see Quixiis hair and that Medusa Warrior's hair is amazing. It's great in the pics to see it getting curlier and curlier as she does curly girl.
Angela rose your hair is beautiful too.
I sincerely hope my hair gets to waist when straightened within the next year. It will be BSL then. It looks like it has a chance to do that finally and its been a long, long journey. so I really admire admire you knee length curlies.

quixil--very pretty and am so impressed with your curl definition.

I am not planning on growing past classic, primarily due to my curly 3b thickness, but it certainly does look very pretty, esp on Quixii and Medusa Warrior!! ;) http://imgur.com/a/DEFkl

I am loving Medusa Warriors blog about her haircare that was posted below! I noticed her right off when I joined here and we became friends right away, sharing hair secrets! When I leave my hair down and drying curly, I use coconut oil like she does to bring out the curls. Learned this from her!! ;) Usually my hair dries detangled in a bun of sorts, so it dries wavy like in my avatar. I get alot less breakage during detangling this way due to the thickness of my hair compounded by how fine the strands are. But I do love how feminine it looks curly! ;) I let it dry curly w C oil in a half up for fancy occasions!

Quixii and MW have been my long curly hair idols for many years!! :crush::crush:

I just noticed your length Angela Rose! Wow! Pretty impressive!!

For those interested in long curly pics, Pinterest is a great place to find them. ;)

One of these days, I need to do a new "can somebody help me type my hair" photo. I just usually don't have the luxury of letting it air dry loose.

Thank you, Beborani and LCT!!!

Do you ever scrunch your hair in the shower w gobs of conditioner in it? I bet this would bring out your curl more. Then don't rinse out all the conditioner and plop your hair in a shirt, yadda yadda, and after 15 minutes or so, let your hair out, and try to scrunch it from the tips up with your hair in front of you -- add a bit of coconut oil into your wet length before scrunching out of the shower. Your hair is sooo long, this might be hard, but even after letting my hair dry wavy in a bun, I can still get this method to bring out the curls in the shower...the next time I wash it... just keep scrunching your length with conditioner --up toyour face in front of you. Magically the curls do reappear!! Then use only Coconut oil as your leave in for the curls. This is what I do and yes, there is still frizz, but the curls pop out. Good luck!! ;) I love your length... It is so pretty and so feminine!! :crush:

Not much of a plopper! I wash about once a week, and after very gently combing very damp hair with a very big wide tooth comb, I braid it pretty tightly for work and let it dry that way.
