Hi everyone!

I have brown eyes and I'm naturally blonde (I think level 8 but not sure). I prefer darker hair and I recently dyed my hair with a demi color so right now it's a reddish brown and looks like this: http://m.imgur.com/h8AQFi2?r

That was about two weeks ago and I can see my hair growing out already - my roots look like this: http://m.imgur.com/h3Qb0JA?r

I've dyed my hair with a demi color before and it faded gradually back to my natural color. I was hoping that the same thing will happen again but if it shouldn't - what are my best options? Should I get highlights so it looks more blended when I have more of my roots showing or should I dye over it again with the same demi color? I don't know if I should go back to blonde either if it won't fade/wash out so any input would be appreciated

If you're trying to grow your hair, dye will hold you back. I suggest using highlights to blend it in, I think that color and your natural color would be beautiful together! Especially as the darker dye fades over time.

Thank you so much! I really like the color right now and I'm honestly not sure if it will fade completely but since it is a demi color would it wash out completely? I was going to wait about two months and see if it will have washed out but it's just been two weeks and I can already see my natural color so not sure how long I should wait with highlights?

Wait until you can't stand looking at your roots anymore lol. It'll take months and months to fade and may not fade completely on hair as light as yours. But it would leave a beautiful reddish tint c:
