I remember watching "Dynasty" on Sundays and this during ad break: Vidal Sasoon wash and go! Everybody wanted a bottle as it was one of the first ever comercialls in Polish tv :-)

haha, yes, this one was quite annoying, given that the conditioners don't typically have more than a pretty smell. Funny thing is that their really give my hair the kind of shine the model has.

My biggest dream has always been to travel back in time and live in the 30s, 40's, 50's, 60's... I don't like being born in the seventies where free love and polygamy was practiced in full blast and too many women started wearing ugly, shapeless clothes, ugly hairstyles and behaving sometimes like men.... I loved my grandma in her pencil dresses, long hair in a wonderful updo and I liked her whole very womanly, ladylike attitude... I think that's why many people don't like me. Believe it or not but I even have to explain myself sometimes why I, being a "pretty, free woman", prefer being with ONE man for years and decades and find the RIGHT one than changing them at least every year... That's Germany in 2016. Or, at least, my shocking experience. Am I too conservative? I think so. Do I like looking classy and womanly? Yes. I'm a woman. Is it superficial? Yes. I know. It's in my genes and hormones. I'm a real woman. Not something in between. Sorry for the stupid OT rambling but some of the commercials and the undercut discussion reminded me of the world I'd love to live in and also reminded me of how much I sometimes dislike the 21 century. So, again, sorry for OT rambling :flower:

All well and good, but not everybody is the same or shares the same opinion, especially on here. ;) Just a heads up.

I know. I'm too straightforward sometimes and I learn here that I shouldn't be with people who don't know or see me in person when I say it.
But I never mean it the negative way. Really. :flower: I'm a good one and always do my best to be :flower: There are too many bad ones already out there. Not here. I mean in the real world around me.

Yeah the world has gone haywire....I am with you there (((Hugs)))

Conservatism is shown in many ways....your style is just one of so many; I can't keep up :p

Good for you ...living as YOU want; it took me too many years to grow out of being the submissive 'yes girl' I was raised to be!
When I started to come out of my shell and assert myself (aside from my acting out as a teen :o)...I was 50 and shocked my Mother when I started (respectfully) standing my ground.
It is still a process but I see the end of the tunnel and at 65 am living a full life of peace and joy.

I am married 45 years and have known hubby for 55 of my 65 years; it IS possible :D
Met when we were 5...dated as teens married at 21; soul mates :crush: I am blessed!

So you hold your ground girl and keep your hope...your are gorgeous and rock that look; don't second guess yourself just because some don't like your unique expression of style!

My hubby is like you...you know how he feels :p

I am one to weigh my words, and hesitate if it can hurt; I wish I could be more secure as you two in expressing myself....but we BOTH need a balance lol
Be the light in the darkness and temper your words with the kindness that is in your heart....you'll be fine; I admire your spirit

But you can't beat the 29 and 89 cent deals :p

This reminds me (here I am digressing again :p) of the man who goes into the bakery and asks for a loaf of bread. The baker hands one over and says "that will be five dollars please". The customer looks very indignant and refuses to pay the five dollars, remarking that back in the 70's you could buy a loaf of bread for fifty cents.

So the baker calls to his colleague out the back "Hey, Joe, do we have any of that fifty cent bread left from the 1970's?" and then explained to the customer that unfortunately they had run out of 1970's bread or he would happily sell him a loaf of it for fifty cents :p

I remember loving the Timotei shampoo ads with the girl with the lovely blonde hair....everything about the ads looked so fresh and clean.

And here's a 1948 print ad for Lustre Creme shampoo. For you youngsters, it was pearly pink and had a consistency similar to modern Cetaphil skin cream.

.....anyways, This is a very bad 90's mexican ad and the exact same green shampoo I used to wash my hair. I was a little boy but I remember the wonderful smell even thouh most old shampoo could pass now as dish soap LOL..... and I still I use the same brand but in a pink bottle diluted most of the time!

I love these!

I can't help cringing every time I see the ladies SCRUBBING their hair - maybe I'm crazy. I don't get that much lather and I definitely don't scrub.

My other-half is almost 20 years older than me...and he SCRUBS his scalp and 1/2 inch long hair in the shower. Maybe this is why...these are the commericlas he grew up with!

oh that so interesting how different countries pronounce 'Pantene' - here in the UK we pronounce it 'Pan-ten' but in this ad she says 'Panteen' haha!
