Hi! I'm new to the world of hair toys and I'm looking to build a bit of a stash. I have been eyeing the lovelies on the swap board and note many of the listings aren't shipping internationally. I'm putting it out there in case there are any fellow Canadians looking to destash (and potentially save me some customs taxes). I'm also interested in bringing stuff in internationally too. Try me :)
I am interested in trying pretty much everything (I'm loving all the variety on etsy). I am particularly interested in a TT stick. My style tends to be more minimal, and I love wood and metal. I'm also looking for a great beach stick in fun colors for summer swimming.
I am new here, but I have great feedback else where and experienced with paypal.
Thanks for looking!

Canadian Inspirations is an Etsy shop that I love. I have several of their things and I have been very well pleased with them.

How long a stick do you like? I'm thinking of destashing a few long sticks (over 6").

I think I could handle 6". My hair fork has a total length of 6" and it works great.

*Waves to fellow Canadian* Are you getting this lovely snow? (I"m in Ontario).
Now, just an FYI: While Etsy and ebay have Canadian sites, Canadian sellers still sell in USD--so make sure you do your exchange (and dreaded shipping) as well--at least shipping won't be bad, but the exchange right now is a killer. I wanted to get a TT during the Friday night sale, but couldn't due to our horrid exchange rate.
You will love TTs. I honestly was converted after I started using them. Before that, nothing really held my hair in a solid bun. Just a word to the wise---hair toy shopping is addictive....be careful ;) Hahahhahha

Haha no I'm in bc. It was gloriously sunny today. All bikes and hikes around here. And totally on our dollar. That is why I'm posting here. I love to support a second hand market, especially of I can do that and avoid custom charges. Nothing like a fat bill to take the fun out of buying.
I can't wait to try some pretties and learn more :)

I'm so envious! I've got a friend in Victoria :) We had the gorgeous weather last weekend for easter---was outside teaching/riding and today, I was back bundled in heavy jackets in the indoor arena.
It's so frustrating when exchange rate messes up our fun of shopping. I mean, what happened to 'free trade'?

I miss the glory days of a par dollar. I had so much fun shopping back then.

There is a shop in Europe that lowers their price when they ship outside of Europe (they take off taxes, but ask them beforehand). They make such beautiful things (I'm a big fan, and coincidentally I plan to post some pictures today). But at what price do customs interfere? Where I live it's 22 euros, or do you always get customs?

Thanks! Those are really pretty. Our customs charges kick in at $40 I believe, but it might be $20. I haven't looked it up in a while and I'm almost always over :/

I have a couple of sticks still available in my Timberstone destash, and one of them is pretty minimalist (African blackwood with a Paua inset on the top). As far as I know, postage to from Europe to Canada is the same as to the US, so shipping should be no problem.
ETA: I post things under the "letter" rate where there's no requirement to state the value of the contents on the parcel, so there won't be any customs charges.

I also still have some things left in my destash (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=136305) and I ship to Canada for $7 and with packages marked as a gift/with a low value to dodge customs. ;)

If you're ok with (apparently sustainable?) water buffalo horn as a material, check out quecraft on etsy or ebay. I got a mess of sticks and forks and combs from her a few years ago as an "intro to hair toys" starter pack. Very reasonable as each item was under $10 CAD. (Note: By "starter pack" I mean I ordered a few things at once; an actual starter pack doesn't exist to my knowledge.)

Since my post is new, you've probably already seen it, but there are lots of goodies there. Especially if your preference is for "not too long". Here's the link: http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=137203
Hope you're having fun. Get ready for hairtoy addiction and learning what works (and what doesn't), and sharing/trading with friends around the world. This is a wonderful community!!
