My senior prom is a month away and I was trying to figure out what to do with my hair. It's very short and in a weird "growing out a pixie" stage and I have no idea how to style it so I'll feel pretty in my dress. I'm fine with using heat, but I have no experience with heat so I'd have to practice beforehand and I don't have much to curl anyway. Should I just chop my growth so I can have a neat pixie? I really don't want to lose my progress!

A sparkly headband would go a long way. No need to chop.

Yes, headband and curls! I used to find that curls really helped to disguise when I was at an awkward stage. :)

Yay we are the same age. :D

And your hair's beautiful and so are you, no need to lose your progress! I know prom is important..but it's for a night...it's not worth it! O.O There's many things you could do! Look it up online. ^_^

A sparkly headband is a wonderful idea! Don't chop off all your lovely progress just for one night!

Can you french braid your hair at that length? Something to create visual interest around your face?

You could possibly do an accent twist of your bangs, and a headband with sparkly dangly earrings.

Go 1920s! Sparkly headband, in the front finger waves (which can be done with a curling iron and clips), and curls in the back. I used a necklace as a headband recently: http://s608.photobucket.com/user/naturallyfrizzy/media/flappergirls.jpg.html

No, I don't think so. And even if I could, it wouldn't stay for the night.

A cool idea would be a diadem or a circlet. A flower crown can be incredible when worn with the right outfit!

You can try some overnight pin curls and any weird bend that dont quite reach curl it and do a lace headband braid!

Since your pics show you part your hair to the side perhaps a side braid?Maybe that with a headband right where the mini braid ends? If you search "pixie side braid" on google images there are a few images of exactly what I'm envisioning/poorly describing (sans headband) ;)

Definitely check out whippycake on YouTube. She has a pixie cut, or at least she did (seems to be growing it out into a short bob at the moment), and shows you a ton of different ways to style it- curling, included. Best of luck!
